Putin selling rubles for dollars

The purpose of leadership? Taking advantages when found, creating advantages where opportunity exists, and denying opportunity to others.

Putin understands this. And, capitalism.

Shortly before the non-invasion invasion of the Ukraine, Putin began a complex scheme in the advanced currency markets. Shorting the ruble against the dollar.

His first open trade was on the corner of Walled and Fence. In the manner of a well trained KGB agent, the transaction got little attention. He bought a Walled Street Journal with rubles, taking his change in dollars. The following day, he returned the Journal. Using his considerable powers, the street vendor refunded the purchase price. In dollars.

Growing bolder, his currency trading scheme traveled to a convenience store. He made a small purchase of 10 gallons of Russian Vodka using Russian rubles.

Two hours later, he returned the empty 10 gallon bottle threatening the store clerk with the 'nuclear' option until the full purchase amount was refunded. Again, in dollars.

Quickly having progressed from trading paper, he was already taking advantage of the commodities.

Few traders progress that rapidly. Few traders are Putin.

The West did not notice his progression or use of the Western way to great power until the Ukrainian trade. Land for dollars, the highest order of capitalism.

He has a well leveraged position and a shocked market. If he can hold the land, the dollar traders will capitulate. And, he will grow bolder. If his grand scheme fails, there's always that nuclear option.

Obama wins where Bush lost

This is a serious editorial reflecting a personal opinion.

Our country has a very mixed history of international relations. Few of use can remember when the United Fruit Company used the CIA and the American Ambassador to Guatemala to over throw a lawfully elected government. The story and the facts have been very well documented. It was called Operation Success.

The CIA exerted air power against the Árbenz Government with a "Liberation Air Force" of US military and mercenary personnel who conducted air raids against Guatemalan military targets and cities. Early in the morning of 27 June 1954, a CIA Lockheed P-38M Lightning attacked Puerto San José and dropped napalm bombs on the British cargo ship, SS Springfjord, on charter to the US company W.R. Grace and Company Line, which was being loaded with Guatemalan cotton and coffee.

So, as we bomb ISIS, reflect on several issues.

We are not above bombing our allies for a few bananas.

We have used mercenaries for the benefit of corporations.

We have toppled governments by using fake armies and fear.

Bush, and his cronies, would have bombed in Syria sooner than Obama. They would have pronounced Mission Accomplished with a shit on bread ceremony.e The survivors of the premature bombing would have gotten smarter. They would have come back just like in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Obama waited until his enemies were well organized and successful. Then, he hit a few battle field targets perhaps as a distraction. The next step was to bomb the chain of command.

Could the Bush Doctrine destroy ISIS. No. What about the resolute and deliberate method of waiting to strike? No.

We will not eliminate any enemy. We can only respond to threats, real threats not the perceived threat of 'actionable intelligence.

Arrested for meth possession. Pleas guilty to get out of jail. Crime lab confirms Chef-Boy-R-D did the cooking

I can't make them up like this.

A female passenger in a car stopped by police [for unknown reasons] had a dirty spoon. Cop arrests her for possession of meth, a felony. Our passenger denies having meth on her dirty spoon. She says it's Spaghetti-Os. Doesn't matter. Off to jail.

This is on July 2nd.

With no money for an attorney, she gets the court appointed public defender. That whole you have a right to an attorney.

Being a brilliant PD, he recommends ... pleading guilty and asking for First Offender status.

Now, I'm not an attorney but it seems pretty damn stupid to me. With the benefit of hind sight, why not demand a speedy trial? My client is innocent. You have no evidence of a crime. No reason for such a search. No probable cause. But, we don't get that. We get the plead guilty and throw yourself on the mercy of the court.

She does. She admits quilt. She gets a deferred sentence and is sent to Drug Court. Now things get so much better. Well, not so much. She must attend counseling sessions. She must report to court weekly. Submit to drug tests. Waive her Constitutional rights as if she is a felon.

And .... PAY for the counseling sessions, drug screens, and court court costs!

Let emphasize that part again. She has no money for an attorney. Pleads guilty and has to pay several hundred dollars to therapists, doctors, and court clerks.

Sounds a lot like a poor tax or that Debtors Prison.

So she misses an appointment. Is arrested again. Now her public defender has to tell her. You're screwed. You've already plead guilty and confessed. I'll work on a plea bargain.

She is sitting in jail waiting for her court date when the spoon comes back from the State Crime Lab.

That meth on the spoon? It was cooked by Chef Boyardee.

Ops says the public defender. Ops say the District Attorney. Ops says the judge. Ops says the police offender. Ops, and you're free to go. That was this Thursday. September 18th, 2014.

So from July 2nd to September 18th, an innocent but poor spaghetti lover rots in our Justice System for possession of a dirty spoon.

Yes, this happened where I live, Hall County, Georgia. The deep South.

So many questions to ask. One of them, Why was the car stopped?

No one knows because?

There's no public record of the arrest report as September 20th, 2014.

They can have my gun when I'm done stalking school children

Funny and not funny.

Just for kicks, let's assume soccer mom and Miss America were in the car line to pick up their kids.

How do they explain this gun nut to tender child A and B?

"Hey! That guy looks like a cop, Mom! Cool huh?"

No that's not cool. That's a gun nut and stay away from him.

Or,

Hey! That guy looks like cop, Mom! Cool huh?

"No, he is way better than a cop. He's a private citizen with a gun and a bullet proof vest. Remember cops are not your friend, especially the IRS, FDA, and USDA. When you see them, run towards this guy."

Guns don't kill little kids

A child commits suicide with his father's gun. At school. In a bathroom.

Another gun that never saved a life.

Felon shoots family. Had a right to a gun. Are gun rights more important than voting rights in Georgia?. Two similar issues. One as deadly as the other.

Link

The link to the real story comes first in this story. Too complicated for me to explain or spin.

Convicted felon on charges unrelated to having killed his son in a hunting accident years ago, shoots and kills his daughter and her six kids.

Sheriff Schultz identified the victims as Sarah Lorraine Spirit, 28; Kaleb Kuhlmann, 11; Kylie Kuhlmann, 9; Johnathon Kuhlmann, 8; Destiny Stewart, 5; Brandon Stewart, 4; and Alanna Stewart, who was born in June.

Under Florida law, this convicted felon still had a right to a gun. Same as in Georgia.

Yes, convicted felons have a right to own a gun or guns. Just sign some paperwork. Get your gun. Even if you have killed in the past.

Story on gun rights in Georgia which clarify my assertion.

The State Board of Pardons and Paroles restored firearms rights for more than 1,400 felons between 2008 and 2013, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Sunday.

The board restored gun rights for 666 people last year, which is 10 times the number of pardons that restored firearms rights six years ago.

The overall number includes 358 felons who were convicted of violent crimes, 166 who were convicted of drug crimes and 32 who killed another person.

Georgia does spend millions trying to stop voter fraud. So does Georgia restore voting rights to felons? They can. Someone needs to see how many times killers get to vote.

Story from Bloomberg on the huge investigation into voting fraud
allegations.

Here's the lead paragraph:

Georgia’s top elections official gave a nonprofit group that has registered more than 85,000 minority voters until tomorrow to produce every record it has, in what critics say is an effort to suppress minority voting in November’s tight race for the U.S. Senate.

Present details on the fraud allegations,"Investigators [said] they can confirm 25 applications[are under investigation of fraud out] of more than 85,000 submitted to the Georgia Secretary of State’s office.

Story in the AJC.

That's 25 allegations of fraud in 13 counties and 85,000 forms. Horrible. Must be stopped.

Governor's man says, "@LoriGearyWSB uncovers massive voter fraud by Democrats. We now know how Carter [Democratic candidate for Governor] plans to get to those 200,000 new voters he says he needs."

From the Republican candidate for Congress, "The fact that an organization led by a well-known Nunn supporter would attempt to illegally register voters is unacceptable."

If you hear dogs talking to you, Son of Sam, shoot the Gorgi!

Hollywood can't make up stories to match real life. The whole art imitates life thing.

What about when life imitates life? A man hears dogs constantly barking. He just knows it is real and not just in his head.

The rational solution is to shoot the dog and not the owner. Well, it's slightly more rational that shooting the owner.

So in Son of Sam, Part Duex, a banker hears a dog saying, "Shoot the Gorgi! Shoot the Gorgi!" Gets his gun. Then, in front of neighbors, shoots the dog's rival, a Gorgi, to death.

So the barking in his head goes on for two more hours. A thank you song.

A more read and accurate version of events here.

Brother practicing for cowboy movie kills sister on her birthday.

I didn't make up the story. Wish it never happened.

Yeah, the 50 year old man decided to relive his younger days of playing cowboys and Indians. In some parody of Hollywood gunslingers, the brother tried twirling his pistol with his finger. He dropped the loaded weapon. It went off. Hit his sister. Killed her in front of her kids.

Birthday parties aren't what they used to be since your Mom took away your cap pistol.

For possibly a more accurate and professional version of events, click here.

Witch Hunt to follow Fishing Trip hosted by AG, Brian Kemp

For several days, Republicans have been screaming voter fraud in Georgia.

From David Perdue:

“The fact that an organization led by a well-known Nunn supporter would attempt to illegally register voters is unacceptable and reminiscent of the Obama-political machine’s ACORN scandal,” as Megan Whittemore put it. “There is nothing more fundamental to our democratic process than maintaining the integrity of our elections and any attempt to tamper with them is deplorable.”

What did the public meeting produce to support David Perdue's statement?

In his public briefing to the election board, Harvey outlined 25 cases of what he called “confirmed” forgery in 13 counties, plus another 26 “suspicious” cases yet to be investigated. That’s out of an estimated 85,000 registration forms collected so far by the New Georgia Project.
ll

All the quotes come from articles in the AJC. See this link for some of the story.

WOW! So we haven't mentioned Bengazi but we did get ACORN accused again. How long before this hits FoxNews and gets linked to the NFL scandal?

Never happens to Republicans. Ops! It does or did. Only it didn't hit the papers until legal charges were filed.

George Zimmerman, man of peace. As in, 'May all my enemies rest in peace.'

Partly from the AJC.

Some one pissed off George Zimmerman. Not much of a life accomplishment. So George followed them to work. With a machine gun, 32 grenades, and a bag of donuts. The ones with pink icing and those little sprinkles on top.

LAKE MARY, Fla. (WSVN) — Lake Mary Police have confirmed they’ve had another run-in with George Zimmerman.
According to officers, on Tuesday, a man called 911 saying George Zimmerman threatened to kill him during a road rage incident.
The following day, the same man called 911 again and said Zimmerman was waiting for him at work, and he felt worried for his safety.
Lake Mary Police said they confronted Zimmerman, and he admitted to exchanging words with the man the previous day.

Well, they don't mention the donuts. I guess cops don't like the connection some people might see.

The man says Zimmerman asked, “Do you know who I am?” and threatened to kill him.

Yes, George, we all know who you are even if you don't.

Obama and ISIL

Presidents get all the shitty jobs that Congress won't do.

If Congress doesn't back the President on ISIL, then the President has to go it alone.

If the Congress gives a chilly ok, the President is still going it alone.

Will Congress support the President in what many war hawks already call a war?

Penis shot at gas station. Exits buttocks.

In today's news, a suddenly gender confused 'man' shot his penis late one night in a gas station. Locals tell a story of a Mine is Bigger than Yours debate won by the .45 caliber bullet in head to head conflict.

It remains unreported what the man was doing in a service station while his gun and penis were fighting.

It is known that when the gun spontaneously ejected, the owner drove, not to the hospital, but to a friend's house.

The conversation went like this.

Knock. Knock. "Hey, man. Let me in. You've got see this. My penis stopped a bullet!"

His unbelieving friend simply said, "Oh, blow it out your ass!"

"Yeah," the wounded dick says, "I did that, too!"

Me? I can't imagine letting even my BFF drop his pants in my living room so I can see his bloody equipment. And and his new exit wound.

But, I don't live in Macon, Georgia.

The boring details on the real story at WMAZ.

Gun kills again. No life safe

Where are the good guns in the hands of good guys?

So here's the next story in a long line of stories about kids killing themselves with a good gun gone bad.

Link

DeKalb County detectives have charged the uncle and aunt of a 2-year-old boy who was shot to death Monday in Stone Mountain with child cruelty and reckless conduct, Capt. Steve Fore said.
“They say they found the child shot,” Fore told The Atlanta Journal Constitution. “The child may have shot himself.”

Sunday morning at the Waffle House

Yes, I eat at the Waffle House.

On Sunday morning,my wife an I were sharing the All-Star special with 3 eggs sunny side up, hash browns, raisin toast, bacon, and a pecan waffle. Someone over paid the juke box for a country song. Five cooks worked the line. The Waffle House equivalent of a Walmart greeter controlled the wait line and wiped down tables.

Just as I'm praising the eggs and toast, a man and a woman take the booth behind me. I can't see them and wouldn't care about them except the man speaks in a booming voice. The woman talks quietly. I can't hear her at all. I'm not sure she has a voice.

I have manners. Yes, even I have manners. I don't eavesdrop on private conversations. I don't like others doing it. But, he was so loud that I just had to listen carefully for her to make a response.

So what did the redneck say that got my attention?

The Dude starts out his breakfast conversation with, "Wow. I don't even have your phone number. What is it?"

Another gem from our hero. "Just tell me what you want and I'll order it for you."

Yeah.

To end the story, I guessed his age as the late 40's to early 50's. Wore a ball cap and jeans. Nice enough looking.

She was about the same age but nice looking and well dressed.

Shame on me for thinking ... he just got laid last night for the first time since high school and she will never visit Waffle House again.

Another post on guns that have never saved a life

How many kids were accidently shot with the family gun in one month.

Eleven.

NRA News shamelessly promotes viewer-submitted pictures of children with firearms, some engaged in unsafe gun practices

Meanwhile, these accidental shootings by children in the U.S. happened within just one month:

August 2nd - September 2nd, 2014.

A 7-year-old boy shot himself at his family’s homemade shooting range in California:

The boy was reportedly firing a single-shot, .22 bolt action youth rifle under his father’s supervision. When the boy cried out, his father noticed there was a small hole in his shirt, then blood.
A 9-year-old girl accidentally shot and killed her instructor with an Uzi in Arizona:

A 13-year-old boy was shot and killed by his 14-year-old friend while they were handling a rifle in Oklahoma:

Police say initially the other teens said the victim shot himself with the gun, but after questioning them separately, police say the 14-year-old accidentally fired the gun … Police say the rifle used was stolen from a home in Midwest City in 2011. Right now investigators don’t know how the gun ended up in the teens hands.

Georgia Ethics Chief 'fired' pending secrecy settlement with Deal

Just in case, I make things up in an effort to find humor amid the chaos and corruption.

Months too late, the Ethics Commission has suspended Holly LeBerge.

Commission Chairwoman Hillary Stringfellow tells The Associated Press she notified the agency's director, Holly LaBerge, on Friday that she had been placed on administrative leave. Stringfellow would only say the action followed the advice of counsel.

I won't quote a source as this broke at 11:23 am and many sources will be up to speed before I finish my post.

Being an evil and nasty man who follows Republican corruption, I expect LeBerge is already fired pending the signing of a gag agreement with Nathan Deal et al.

Commissioner Craig Lutz and his Park

Since I can't afford a subscription to the Gainesville Times, I'm stuck getting my real news from free sources of lesser quality. Rumors mostly. Sometimes the free weekly called The Paper of Flowery Branch.

The Paper ran with the story on ground breaking for Cherokee Bluffs park in South Hall. Well, more exactly, the park is located in the 'center of Hall County,' Sterling on the Lake subdivision. My county commissioner, Craig Lutz lives in Sterling on the Lake as do many people of culture and good character.

The park is going to have 3-D archery a very important sport for local children. Without the $2.4 million dollar expenditure on the park, many needy children would be forced to make bows and arrows or worse, buy bows and arrows. Those are just too deadly and violent for children much like Dodgeball. A Saturday afternoon at the local park filled with 3-D archery beats a day sitting in front of the large screen television set and some fake electronic game that only simulates 3-D archery.

The Paper helps Commissioner Lutz polish his resume'. "It's kind of a relief. It's something that I've been pretty much trying to get going for a majority of my time here in office." Craig Lutz is no johnny come lately to the park. Elected in 2010, Lutz took the curious public on a tour of the land back in June of 2013.

The 100 acres of park land purchased in 2005 occupied much of the debates during Lutz's campaign against Republican Bobby Banks.

Lutz promised to spend money buying land for parks near Lake Lanier and Sterling on the Lake. He vowed to find the money for upkeep and maintenance of trails, pavilions, a playground, disc golf course, an amphitheater, and the desperately needed 3-D archery range for children.

So it is a relief knowing Commissioner Lutz will have built almost single handedly the only recreation area in South Hall open to all our children complete with a bronze monument with his name on it.

I hope they spell his name correctly.

Another good guy with guns killed by police with good guns

Two days ago, a very peaceful man was standing on his front porch shooting at helicopters when trigger happy police shot him to death in violation of his Open Carry Rights.

Well, that's how the story would be covered in Georgia.

So a man is on his front porch with at least 4 loaded guns. So far, it's claimed the man was shooting before the police arrived. More shots were fired at police. Then, the man began shooting at a police helicopter.

Meanwhile, the local cops took up positions on a roof top and shot the man to stop the rampage.

The media coverage doesn't have much information on the shooter or his guns. I'd like to know where and how he got his guns. I'm thinking Walmart or a Christmas gift from a Southern cousin.

I'm thinking he was a law abiding citizen before going nuts.

I'm certain that none of his guns ever saved a life. Anyone wanna second guess me?

Police departments a good source of guns for felons

The federal government program known as '1033' gives local police departments military weapons like Humvees, small tanks called APCs, and automatic weapons.

So as we learn from Mike Brown and Ferguson, we militarized the police. Well, maybe in ways we didn't mean.

For example, the police seem to lose their new equipment. So far, four free Humvees are missing or stolen. Sheriff or sometimes 'Sharif' Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Arizona can't find his M16. Or, nine of his Colt .45 handguns given to him by .... Obama et al.

He's just a good ol' boy. Losing a rifle or a few handguns doesn't mean anything. Well, it means Obama isn't giving him anymore free military weapons. So now we know why the 'Sharif' of Maricopa whines like a baby. Someone took his toys and Nanny won't let him have new ones.

Getting banned from '1033' requires a certain amount of dishonesty or incompetence. If you lose your Humvee but report it stolen within 24 hours, you can get a free replacement.

Is there a problem with the program or just a problem with honesty among our local law enforcement?

Well, in Texas, bastion of justice, Chief William Jason Kelcy 'sold' four million dollars of '1033' goodies before getting Busted!

Make me wonder how long the Chief had to stand on dark street corners whispering, "Hey! Wanna buy a Humvee? How about a machine gun? Dude, I got handguns. Handguns!" before he unloaded the four million dollars in military weapons.

So who buys stolen weapons being sold by the Chief of Police? Don't over think it. Criminals. The most solid citizens in the community. Who else would the Chief of Police trust?

Am I wrong?

Georgia law allows gun sales in vending machines.

The new vending machines were opened today with a public ceremony featuring Governor Nathan Deal, Judge Judy, and three other idiots.

“Millions of people in Georgia lack access to quality firearms,” the governor said in a signing statement. “This bill will finally bring handguns from top manufacturers into every neighborhood and hopefully every household.

“By helping more Georgians to defend themselves, we expect this bill to lower crime significantly. By the end of my second term murder, rape and armed robbery should be nearly eradicated.”

I only wish I had made this up.
