Friends, Family, RUSSIANS!

Sorry. I don't remember how the salute goes.

This week, 31 Russians entered my blog in a single mass invasion. Thirty-one! All together.

Glorious Invasion!

Problem solving, Southern Style

I had the best time at work today.

My last customer of the day wanted to pick up his special order without a receipt. Wonderful. He didn't know the part number.

I researched his purchase history and determined he had bought p/n 48719. He paid cash. More than a week ago.

I started searching for good ol' 48719 on the special order shelf. Not there. I looked through the paper orders for 48719. No orders which means the order was filled. Searched again through all the special orders. Nothing. Went to the Commercial department and searched the filled orders. Nothing.

Went to the Manager on Duty for suggestions. Go back and look again. If nothing, look in the special order items being returned. Small note: We returned special orders after holding them for 7 days.

No 48719. Looked at inventory. We do not stock 48719. We do not have one on order. It comes in a small transparent box.

So, my "I don't have a receipt for my special order" customer asked, "Can't you find it?"

Really, Dude? You've been watching me search and heard me ask for help.

"No, I can't find it."

So order me another one ...

Absolutely. While I'm trying to re-order his special order part ... "Oh, and have it delivered to the store closest to my home."

You bet, Asshole.

So, our system won't allow me to order his special order part without pre-payment which would mean he'd have to pay twice to get one part.

Explain that to him. Have Manager on Duty come help. He and I can't figure that out. Customer still calm and easy to work with. Doing okay.

Advise him: My name is Your Little Bitch and I will order this part, call him with an expected delivery date, and have it shipped to his favorite store.

Now the shit hits the fan. Manager on Duty is still trying to bypass the system to order the special order part without pre-payment. Three other customers are waiting in line. Newest employee is going out in the parking lot to provide a free service to a customer.

Not content with that, newest employee decides to solve the special order problem.

"Just order it and when it comes in, ship it to his favorite store, closer to his home."

I spewed split pea soup at him. Levitated 2 feet off of the floor, And held up a wooden cross while screaming, "I am not going to let three people solve one problem!"

I let gravity return me gracefully to a fully upright and standing on my own two feet position. Calmly, I wiped the split pea soup from my lips and covered the wooden cross with leather before securing it in a mahogany box.

Mr. Special Order smiled. Nodded his head in approval. Put one hand on my counter. "I'll check back in a few days. Maybe next week or year. I feel really good about you taking responsibility."

Having solved another solvable problem, I closed my ass out and went home where I'm loved and cherished.

Trump shocked by bathroom issues, fear of toilets, and

Yes, Donald, women use the restroom when needed.

So do I.

Maybe you have a private pisser with you where ever you go.

But, I use the public restroom when I'm traveling.

AND, we don't talk about it much. Well, maybe we talk about Republicans with a wide stance. But, mostly, regular people don't discuss the quality of the seat or the relationship an asshole has with single sheet TP. Just because it is a public restroom, doesn't mean there are no walls.

So try it some time, if you have the courage to stand in line, unzip yourself, and shake the last drop out before washing in your hands.

Other people do it.

Your whole thing about how your shit doesn't stink is bullshit. Which gets me to the punch line.

If you've been holding it in for all these years, no wonder you're full of shit.

Possible Star Wars spoilers

If Star Wars were truly Americanized ...

All Light Sabers would be semi-automatic with pistol grips.

Snowspeeders would have had better ground effect skirts.

The Imperial AT-AT would have painted pink desert camo.

The Millennium Falcon would have some old bumper stickers supporting Bush/Cheney for Emperor.

The Stormtrooper's uniform would have a drop down back door. And, graffiti on the helmets.

Darth Vader would have been drinking Coke Zero.

Luke's Landspeeder would have had sunvisors with lighted vanity mirrors and an Elvis bobblehead doll on the dash.

Your 2nd Amendment explained

In the debate about gun control, many gun enthusiasts argue that the Second Amendment to the Constitution was written, not for the purposes of hunting or even self-defense, but specifically to give people the ability to rise up against the government when they no longer support that government.

These gun enthusiasts further hold the reference to the word militia in the Second Amendment refers to the armed populace in general. As such, this militia has the right to own the type of weapons that would be required to overthrow the government if need be.

Let’s take a look at exactly what the Founding Fathers put in the Constitution and other laws about the Militia:

Article I, Section 8
of the Constitution lists among the powers of Congress: To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions; To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;

Article II, Section 2: The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States;

Amendment 2: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Amendment 5: No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger;

That is every reference to the Militia in the Constitution. The description of the Militia in Article I sounds very much like our country’s National Guard. It is supposed to be well-organized with officers and training.

You know it is time for a change when ....

A co-worker asked to help run his campaign for State Legislature. I quit my job. Destroyed my cell phone. Burned my house to the ground. Scarred my face with acid and I'm sharing a cardboard box under the 10th Street Bridge with five other Political refugees from the Planet of Swollen Egos.

Racism in Retail

I can't verify Drury's story. But, I will tell a similar one from work this week.

If you don't know already, I have a part time retail delivery job. When I'm not delivering, I help out in the store.

I'm helping an elderly Black man at the cash registrar when a 'kid in a Rebel flag shirt' makes a stupid move. Dumb kid. Might have been 16 or might have been 26. Always wears this Rebel flag t-shirt with no sleeves.

So Flag kid should stand in line BEHIND my customer. He doesn't. He comes up and leans on my counter right at the elbow of my first customer. I didn't say anything but I tried really hard to make eye contact with my customer as if the kid wasn't there, ignoring the kid, and to show all my focus is on the right person at the right time.

Of course, my elderly man really wants away from the kid. Turns slightly away from the kid as the transaction is finished and leaves quickly.

So I say to the kid, "Do you know that you made that man feel uncomfortable?"

And the dumb ass reply was .... Fill in the blank using small words of less than 4 letters.

Russia Responds

Today, 31 brave Russians defied Putin and visited my blog!

I expect a Russian cruise missile launched from the Great Lakes is speeding towards my server. Putin wouldn't dare target an American exercising free speech.

Putin! Keep the shirt on you hairless skinny bastard. The Proud Russian is a Bear with Hair.

Kiss my grits you piece of shit.

Russia continues to block me.

However, five people in the Ukraine are solidly with me. Two in China dare to search out the truth. Australia is with me this month for a bloody total of 34.

Canada can't be far behind.

Weird things I learned yesterday on Facebook and other places

O Tannenbaum isn't a Christmas song. It refers to a pagan relationship with a fir tree, a very faithful fir tree. The tune is used as the official State Song of Florida, Iowa, Maryland, and Michigan. A German version of On Top of Old Smoky.

On Facebook, I learned about how our feelings created thoughts which really pissed me off. But, I thought about it before I got angry. Then, I learned that I have no common ground with others because I'm too emotional. Now that I knew how to handle. I told the deeply conflicted self appointed second coming of Christ that if he feels like I'm pissing on him, it's because I am.

He's still overthinking that one.

I lost my cool again over the sound byte, If we ban guns, only criminals will have guns.

Who the frack are these criminals? Do they run red lights for jollies while waiting for the coming gun ban? Maybe they speed down the interstate at 73 mph in the 65 mph zones. So what are the criminals doing now? You know as well as I do.

The quote has nothing to do with existing criminals. It's a threat, a very violent threat. "IF you try to ban my guns, I'll kill your ass."

Do you really think criminals don't already have guns? Do ya think more criminals will have more guns if guns are banned? No. If guns were against the law, gun owners would break the law. So much for the good guy with a gun theme. Seems like we should read more into these sound bytes.

Russian readership

Suddenly, no one in Russia is reading my blog.

So .... Putin sucks lemons, farts the lyrics to My Darling Clementine, and eats with his fingers. Well, not his fingers but the fingers he had cut off of other people and kept in his dining room as memorabilia.

Russia used to be 20% of my readers. This month? Zero ...

Is it time for a walk down Green Street with an AK47?

Ever get strange ideas? Of course you do. Bet you don't share them. Most of the time.

I drove past a McDonald's and I thought, 'We are what we eat.'

Then, my brain stretched that out to, 'We are what we eat and who we meet.'

A conjoined sentence which needs some clarity.

If the food which we eat determines how our body, like if we eat bacon we get pig fat, then does our human interactions determine our mental health in a same way.

Do you spend all day working in a retail store full of idiots speaking slang terms, asking half formed questions, and looking for custom fabrications?

Might make you rude, eh?

What if you never see a mass shooting? Never hear the dying screams of children? Never clean clotted blood with a garden hose?

Might make you indifferent to violence, eh?

So what IF ... I buy an assault rifle, a good pistol, and get a conceal carry permit? Then, show up at the Gainesville Christmas Parade openly packing iron?

I'd be just exercising my basic right to be confrontational, right? Sort of like Free Speech with a side order of terrorism?

I'm so thinking ... I love a parade.

Wednesday, December 2, 2015

At least 12 more dead in a mass shooting.

I tried. I really did. I said it would happen again. It did.

Mass shooting victims die screaming. Screaming.

Bullets crush through human flesh. They do not carve like a knife. Bullets crush flesh and boil human fluids.

The victim dies horribly. Seldom is death quick. Gabby Giffords remained awake and talking after that bullet crushed through her bones and her brain. Shot in the head, alive, aware and in pain; just like Robert Kennedy on the kitchen floor of a hotel, she was able to speak, think, and feel.

If you still have human feelings, imagine all the victims, all who have ever been killed with a gun, walking down your streets, not in a death march, but in a parade.

A parade of carnage never seen in your living rooms, churches, your food restaurants.

Imagine them like those Walking Dead zombies caught forever between life and peaceful death. Each of them looking to you with pleading eyes. Their bodies already damaged but not dead. Pleading with you.

Help me.

Crazy idea

Didn't work.

Crazy idea in my head

If I post fewer racial stories, would my readership increase?

Hunger Games ... 'Government is Bad.'

I'm no saint or wise man. I did try to explain the world to a friend today with out using real world explanations. It didn't go all that well.
My friend was talking about the Hunger Games books and movies. So I tried to steer the conversation to our cultural acceptance of violence by mentioning some of the worst killings in the books and movies. All are children. That seemed to go flying over his head.

So I asked if he knew the main theme of the story. 'Oh yeah. Government is bad.'

No. Violent rebellion against violent oppression creates more violent oppression by a new set of actors.

So he gave me that 'What the frack does that mean?' look so I explained.

The story was all about innocence. She, the main character, a 16 year old female, took up violence to protect her innocent little sister from violence. In the end, she couldn't stop the violence, couldn't protect innocence, and was back exactly where she started.
Her sister died. Innocence died. Nothing really changed but Dayum, we killed some people.

Racial Assault

Wow! I had a real moment of revelation today and it must be shared.

A Facebook friend posted from the AJC about the students in Klan hoods acting out at East Coweta High School.

Here's the picture.

I think the behavior is offensive. And, I said so. Then, things got interesting.

Let me quote.

"Not being the intended target Mike, it's easy for you to dismiss this as a simple insult. An insult is telling me you don't like my hairstyle or outfit. This my friend, is not just an insult. The klan is still alive and thriving throughout the south. I have no idea what these kids parents take them to on weekends. I have no idea what they have planned next. What I do know is that as a black woman in the south, I would feel threatened if I encountered someone dressed like this."

That wasn't enough.

"Agree: I see this outfit as equivalent to a T-shirt with the words "I will cut your throat and hang you from a tree if I can find a chance to do it without getting caught." Which is pretty much the entire point of the Klan hood, right?

So that's not a specific threat, unless you happen to be near this person and alone (in which case it's a pretty violent, gruesome threat)."

After some reflection, here's my reply to my friends.

I've thought about this several times today. I'd like to put the white man spin on it. Give me time to spell it out.

I know a young man of 35 with two little children. The man loves his wife and children. Those three people are the dearest things to him on the planet. Deep, deep down ... he knows ... in some way ... he's been blessed with more than he could possibly deserve. [That's the best I can do as far as sharing how I think the man feels about his very, very good life.]

IF a 'clown,' the word I used earlier, jumped out in front of his wife and children in a parking lot like this 'clown' did, my buddy would want some pay back. To him, this is an assault. Not a threat.

It is like pointing a gun at a person then running away.

That's how I will think of it from now on. It's how I will explain it to anyone and everyone. Should be a crime.

Putin invades Egypt. Saves 80,000 Russians.

It's true.

The Russian President, hailed recently by the GOP as the kind of guy we need as our President, just saved 80,000 Russians.

The Cowboy Cossack acted to save his people after 224 people aboard a Russian passenger plane were blown out of the sky and their parts scattered over miles of desert.

Ever the bold strong man, Putin stripped off his shirt during a press conference on Friday when announcing his line in the sand program, retaliation for the 224 murders.

"Russia will leave no stone upturned, no cheese on the table, nor coats on a hat rack until I have flown into Egypt and saved the 80,000 Russians currently held in Egypt in tourist resorts."

Having publicly mixed his metaphors and bared his love handles, Egypt responded, "Come and get them."

Putin promptly dispatched military planes disguised as private airliners from 27 cities. In the haste to save the Russians, tons of luggage fell into the hands of working class Egyptians and other Middle Easterners.

Putin denied abandoning the personal belongings, pledging to retrieve it all once the Russian tourists provide valid claim checks.

Please 'stand by' until this blog updates this post to more closely match the stories out of Moscow.

Veteran's Day, 2015

No real story today. No, I didn't serve with Ben Carson or Donald Trump. I can count no shots fired in anger. No honorable trip to Canada in protest of a wrong war.

No. I got to eat breakfast with some veterans and their families. And, one of my grandsons. All good so far.

But, some people might think I was a veteran because I was invited to the breakfast, the parade, and the closing ceremony. My grandson invited me and I would not turn him down. So, now what?

Should I claim status as a surrogate for those who could not be there? I did. At least once. With the explanation, I don't want to be seen as pretending to be a Veteran. Does that help?

I watched a large group of Veterans honored by children and many of the Veterans will always assure I served.

What can I do? Remember my grandson eating some bacon, biscuit, and donuts with a huge smile on his face while I explained Veterans Day as well as I could to a kindergartner.

I can live with being his hero.

Tax Cheats in Hall County

No reply from anyone in Hall County government about my allegations of tax fraud.

Am I nuts?

Hall County Tax Cheats

On the topic of tax fraud in Hall County, I sent the following email this morning.

Good morning Mr. Watson,

I hope all is well with you.

What can you share with me about the property at Blank Road?

Is it indeed a bona vide and economically viable family farm, over valued for tax purposes due to residential development? Does this over valuation of the land threaten the farm? Is this farm and its family in need of protection through tax reductions?

Perhaps, you can quickly answer these questions.

Is it covered by a conservation covenant?

If so, why?

Are there, as I have been told, numerous little redneck mansions disguised as 'family farms' under conservation covenant in Hall County?

MIchael W. Parker

The property in question is a four bedroom or eight bedroom home with a basketball court, a guest house, detached screened in room with bed and bath, on ten acres ... built in 2006 and sold for $765,000.

I have been told that Hall County employees 'look the other way' on this issues.

We will see.

Monday, November 2, 2015

I'm back!

Should hear something from Hall County by Thursday.

Wednesday, October 28, 2015

Time off

Leaving town for a few days.

Hope to have news about tax cheating when I return.

Friday, October 23, 2015

Letter to Watson

Good morning Mr. Watson,

I hope you are well.

Commission Chair Mecum suggested bringing my concerns about tax cheats to you. I've known for sometime that people can put their land 'into covenant' and reduce their tax burden. I'm sure most have good intentions.

Yet, the rumor persists. The Conservation Use Covenant is a license to steal.

Here is some information on a specific property. I wish I could withhold the name but I don't know how to do that.

This is a online link to the property tax card (?).

Left blank for now

If the card is accurate, there are two structures on 10.68 acres. There's a section for Land Conservate Use Information. Type is CUV. Description is Agland 93 and Timberland 93. Total land 10.68.

I'm assuming this means all the land has been declared a bond fide farm by the owner who intends to keep it as a farm during the ten year period of a Conservation Use Covenant.

Here is a link to the Georgia Secretary of State (SOS) office. Using the search tools, it's clear. blank for now operates a real estate investment company from that address.

Blank for now Investments, Inc.

I'm not certain if this search result remains an active link. If not, it's very easy to search the SOS website.

The property is listed for sale at this link.

Blank for now

It is indeed 'perfection in the foothills.'

Property Details

If the listing is correct, there are two houses and some other improvements including a basketball court, what appears to be stone terraces for outdoor seating, and the 'amazing detacted screened room.'

I find it hard to reconcile these three sources of contradicting information. My imperfect understanding of the covenant precludes my understanding.

1. Covenant can not include a residence.
2. Covenant land can not be used for other generation of income such as the headquarters of a investment corporation.
3. Any changes in the use of the property must be reported ...
4. Land use must be bona vide agriculture.

So I've looked at aerial photos and see no signs of forest management in the old stand of trees. It's just an old stand of trees and not a timbering operation.

No reasonable person would ever walk onto this property and declare, what a lovely, income producing farm.

Except a Hall County assessor who might declare, as I have heard, 'Who's to know they are not farming it?'

Chair Mecum suggested I call you to discuss possible technicalities in the covenant. I'm not available to talk or meet until after November 2nd.

I am copying Mecum and Kathy Cooper who represents me on the Commission. I could reply via email but I assume Mecum and Cooper, both good public servants, do not need me emailing them all hours of the day and night.

My cell phone is 678- if you would like to leave a message. My work does not normally allow personal calls. You may text message if you wish. Email to me might be best.

But, I am wondering how you interpret all this information.

Redneck mansions disguised as bona fide farms

Hopefully, I can continue to advocate for gun control and begin exposing rich tax cheats in Hall County, Georgia.

The owner of a 8 bedroom mansion recently wrote a pro guns letter to the Gainesville Times saying something about doing away with the bad folks in our society.

How do I know? I looked him up in the tax records.

He owns 10.6 acres of land in Murrayville and claims all 10 acres as a working farm. I've seen the 'barn' which doubles as his 'house.'

I guess his farm hands sleep pretty well at night.

Face it, dude.

You have a few trees on your property. You're not a timber baron.

You have a nice looking pasture but no cattle.

You claim your residence as a farm building.

Today, I began the process of outing your lies to the Hall County Commission and Darla Robinson, Tax Commissioner.

Let's start getting rid of the bad folks in our society, just as you suggested, starting with you.

Guns don't kill people. People kill people. A challenge.

The gun debate rattles on for the NRA which organizationally is a lot like the NBA. Eventually, only one team wins. Every else gets eliminated.

So let's test this little truism about 'Guns don't kill people. People kill people.'

Here's my proposal and challenge to Wayne LaPierre.

I challenge you to a duel at 30 paces. I get to use an AK47 with a 100 round banana clip and fully automatic option.

You get your choice of any human on the planet. May I suggest President Obama or Hillary Clinton. Both seem to be good choices. Alledgedly they are among the most lethal human beings on the planet.

After I've used all 100 rounds to prove to you that guns kill, I'm going to spit on your grave.

When would you like to meet?

Monday, October 5, 2015

God says, Kill those who might kill you before they do kill you.

It's 1 am and I'm sleepless. Guns, gun violence, murders, political, social, and religious support for guns deny me some sleep. Perhaps even my rest.

Do you remember the shooting of those 20 kids in that classroom? Sort of, eh? Details are faint. The horror is as distant as the date.

That shooting in the movie theater? Did the jury send him to the electric chair? I don't know.

The two reporters murdered during a live TV broadcast? The recorded video is the Hell in my eyes right now. I see the video running in my head. The gun is pointed. It fires. The blond woman sort of jumps and jerks. The sound track screams. The scream suddenly interrupted by the next bullet crushing through her skin. The second bullet rips the air from her lungs in another scream. And, the video repeats this pattern. The sound track screams and screams until it is cut.

I feel like I was there. This live video bit of horror marked me forever.

And, yet, I knew there would be another shooting. Any day. Any moment. Just like the screaming woman, our society can't avoid the hail of death.
And, yet, what did we do? Nothing. Except for those with a religious or political agenda. That is, if there is a difference anymore between religion and gun politics.

So while I can't sleep I'm reading what others are saying about the latest shooting, hoping to find some comforting words. something to make the horrors distant again.

But their words make the horrors real again. Not the images of the shootings. The certainty, the absolute certainty that more innocent lives will end as metal slugs slam though human flesh.

Among all the words I've read in support of more guns, I found a writer talking of our "sacred civil scripture," the Constitution, and how it describes our right to have guns. The words built a clear path to a safe society. We must kill those who might kill us before they do kill us.

Who will make that decision as to who might be plotting against us? Those who have access to a "higher scripture than that we have written?"

How can I sleep tonight when a gun nut hugs the US Constitution, calls it a sacred scripture and says, our national disgrace can only be stopped when we eliminate those guilty of having a "dark heart?"

Submitted to the Gainesville Times as a Letter to the Editor.

Sunday, October 4, 2015

God says, Kill those who would kill you before they do kill you.

At last, the Holy Call has gone out and the final solution to our rampaging gun problem has been solved. It is time for the right thinking protectors of our Holy Civil Scripture to hunt down the dark hearts and kill them before they kill us.

I launch my unholy outrage at the letter of Michael Hawkins who used phrases like, scripture "that we wrote for ourselves for civil use," and 'our sacred civil scripture' in his letter.

So we have the proper Christian approach to gun violence.

Hunt down and kill those among us who are deranged or who plot to harm us.

Kill them all and Let God sort them out.

Digging a hole to fit a lake

Over a decade ago, some land developers in Hall County, Georgia, decided to create an amenity lake by damning a creek. The creek feeds into the river which feeds into the lake which supplies the water to flush toilets in Atlanta, Georgia.

So, there were permits to buy. Inspectors to bribe. And reasons to lie.

So the permits were purchased fair and square but magic happened.

'Our lake is too small. We don't like that at all. Give someone a call. Let the government fix the law.'

So county government began digging a financial hole called The Glades. Yes, I should have used a swamp metaphor. Next time.

During the worst economic crisis in the modern era of man, local government laid off hundreds of people with some terminations announced on radio. Yeah. Some people were driving to their jobs when the local radio stations repeated the terminations. As in, last night, in a public meeting, the Hall County Board of Commissioners voted to fire 25 people immediately to save a few thousand dollars.

Have to explain that better.

The Commission decided to fire the people on a Thursday night rather than a Friday morning to save money.

Yeah. Desperate times. Desperate measures.

So we saved a little money at the price of basic human dignity and happily used the money to dig the hole to fill with gold.

So in the second decade of the Glades, we have a $15,000,000 hole. A scheme to spend unlimited money, whatever it takes, to recover the losses made by political bosses.

Time to fire some County Commissioners or give them shovels.

Let's have some real conversations about guns, violence, and what's best for our communities

I've heard a lot about the community forum on racial profiling.

So, let's chat. Hypothetical, of course.

So some white guy walks through a black neighborhood with his backpack. No one flinches. He stops and ask directions. People are helpful.

He enters a Methodist church by a side door during a public meeting. There are no seats in front. The meeting is in process. He's asked to move to the back. Okay so far.

He speaks to a couple people in the back, moves further into the room.

The backpack gets heavy and he shifts his position. He studies the people in the room and the panel. It's damn boring. Most of the panel isn't watching the room. Some one is speaking from the podium. Only the audience seems to listen.

The backpack gets heavier and the guy shifts again.

Three people on the podium have looked at him. A tall man, maybe the preacher of the church, is moving towards the back.

The preacher speaks to a few people. Someone, an elderly man, asks the guy if he wants a seat. The guy replies, 'Thank you. I'm fine. Thanks.'

The preacher is standing next to the guy so the guy puts the backpack down. Slowly. Carefully. Very carefully.

He speaks to the preacher, 'Can we talk over here?'

The preacher and the guy go in another room. The guy says, 'I don't think I fit in here.'

"No. Come with me.'

They start towards the front of the room, the minister says, 'Bring your bag.'

There's only one seat up front, next to the chief of police, a very friendly guy. Very friendly. As in, Hey. How are you doing. Good to see ya here.'

The guy sits quietly, hoping things will be fine. He's asked to stand up. He does. He's asked to repeat what he said in the other room. He does.

Now, no body asks him for ID. No one follows him as he leaves. No one inspects his backpack.

So what was in the backpack?

Cool-Aid. Red Cool-Aid. It doesn't matter. The Chief of Police didn't open it.

Now what if the guy had carried a loaded AK47 into the room as allowed by Georgia law?

What if the guy had a professional quality camcorder on his left shoulder like the shooter in Virginia?

More importantly, what if the conversation on guns and violence intensifies and deepens?

Change for the better in the community and more safety for the individual?

Or should our greatest national debate tomorrow be exactly what it was yesterday, 'Donald Trump's hair ... It's real!'

Hey, You! Asshole ...

I am semi-retired meaning I work part-time at a menial job. It keeps me off the couch and out of the house. Both very good things as we age. My pain levels are down. I sleep better. But, my little delivery job puts me in direct contact with the public.

Yesterday, a mechanic showed me his greasy black hands. "Guess who I am?," he said. "Obama!" was his punch line. For those not well schooled in White Southern Speak, Obama means: That fucking nigger in my White House.

Yeah, it does.

As required by my employer, I did my job functions and went on to the ne"xt delivery stop. It didn't get any better.

At the tire shop, the owner was being engaged by a outside Salesperson pushing this weeks money saving special. Something was said about anyone with a brain would buy the product. That moved into only Planned Parenthood can sell brains and make money.

So I lost control of self censorship.

Followed by my warmest personal smile.

"In 2010, I ran for public office and Planned Parenthood endorsed me as a candidate. I remain proud of that endorsement as Planned Parenthood does a lot more good for women and family than any other organization in the United States. It's not just an abortion mill as some would have us believe."

I didn't stop. Couldn't.

"How do you think doctors learn how to perform abortions? Medical schools. Every student in med school goes through an Ob/gyn rotation. Ob/gyn doctors do abortions in hospitals. Nearly every doctor will perform an abortion as a part of their med school training."

(Here's are some sources to back that up. UCSF Medical Center, Time magazine, ...

"So pretty much ... every practicing doctor and every existing hospital has performed an abortion."

Where did that get me? It got this response:

"Yeah, but did they force the woman to have an abortion even when she didn't want one?"

I held my tongue as that is the proper response to assholes with no brains.

"You will someday regret not doing a little evil to accomplish a greater good."

Did you think the USA was the new Rome? Guess again.

Back in college, we discussed the US being the 'new Rome.' Our currency dominates the 'global economy.' Our language is taught in most countries. We have people fighting to become citizens through legal and illegal means. Most travel is under our control or through our country on the way to other countries. (All roads lead to Rome.)

But, as much as the US resembles ancient Rome, what other globally dominant country comes to mind?

Discussed Nazi Germany at work comparing the US to Germany. I do see new Nazis in this country. Using our military to spread 'our Christian way of life' around the globe while pursuing genocide among a specific religious group. Don't believe me? Listen to the rhetoric. "Build a wall ten feet high around the Middle East and flood the mother f_ckers." Never heard that one? It's not new. Goes with bomb them back to the stone age.

Compare our military to Germany's in 1940. Best planes. Best weapons. Able to 'walk over' the opposition. Biggest issue? Ruling captured territory using puppets.

Harsh reality. The average German thought all was well as they invaded France, Albania, Guersey, Jersey, Serbia, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Croatia, Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Hungary, Netherlands, Monaco, Romania, Yugoslavia, Finland, Poland, San Marino, Lithuania, Ukraine, and these Russian republics -- Belorussia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldavia ...

Now name the countries where the US maintains a military base. 'Don't bother. It's a long list so try this harsh reality.

No country maintains a military base in the USA.

German Reich or Roman Empire. Is one any better than the other?

Idiots at the Gainesville Times

There are lots of idiots at the Gainesville Times. I'm not talking about the executives. This time.

This is from an old letter to the Editor, Gainesville Times.

President can't make deals with our enemies

Saturday, I heard on one of the news channels that President Barack Obama stated that we are losing the war in Afghanistan. The reporter also reported that the president said that we need to be talking to the Taliban.

I cannot believe that a U.S. president, the commander in chief of our armed forces, would make those kind of statements. If the United States had a president like Obama during World War II, we would have lost that war in Europe and the Pacific. Those kind of statements alleged to have been made by Obama shows me he is not a leader or president, least of all a commander in chief.

The other people we have in Washington, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, are no better. Between our Washington leaders who have no backbone whatsoever and the ACLU, our nation is in bad trouble. Unless we have some real leaders step forward, our nation will not get out of the trouble we are in.

I had relatives serve in Europe, the Pacific, Vietnam, Korea, Iraq and currently in Afghanistan. I hope their service and the service of so many other brave soldiers was not wasted. I don't need to be reminded who I am as an American, but I think many of our national leaders do.

George J. Roshau

So why revisit this letter from March 2009? In 6 years, nothing has changed. The ACLU still runs the country. We're still in bad trouble, whatever that means. Obama isn't the President. --- read the letter ---it says Obama is not president. Or the Commander in Chief. The writer also thinks the service of his family ... in WWII ... might have been wasted. Hell, I thought we won but I attended some Liberal public school that must have changed history.

But, thank God! The writer knows who he is as an American! I'm glad. For three paragraphs I didn't think the Mother Fucker had a point.

More on the Tax follies

Yeah, yeah, sure, sure ...

"Government isn't the solution. Government is the problem!"

Let's set the record straight. That is bullshit!

Let's also set the record straight on the income tax.

We don't tax all income. We don't tax essential or basic income.

Essential or basic income can and should be defined as the amount of money that it takes to survive, not thrive, in our biased society. That bias should be very obvious to everyone after 7 years of George Bush.

We have a positive bias towards liars, cowards, and all the negative emotions.

Some gun lovers would kill over the dinner table then finish dinner

A gun nut threw this in my direction recently. I was at work and couldn't really give him what he deserved.

'When I take my family out to eat at Chili's, I sit facing the door. If someone comes in with an AK47, they might get off a couple shots. But, I'm going to pop him in the chest twice then twice more in the head. Then, sit down and finish my dinner.'

If not born a killer, he's trained to be one.

I would not give a gun to any man who could kill another man then sit down and eat the remains of dinner.

Would you? Hell, no.

He should immediately think of his children, then his wife, then the wounded as our gun nut has conceded a couple shots to the 'active shooter.' Continuing dinner isn't a heroic action. Shooting a killer might be heroic. Heroic, in this gun nut's wet dream, would be to see to others when the shooting stopped, starting as I said with his family.

How would your children feel after 6 shots were fired, 4 of them going past their ears. What about your spouse. There's time to say, get the children under the table and stay there until I'm sure this is over. Then, make a defensive position between them the 'active shooter.'

Sit down and eat dinner? Ignore your family? Ignore the other humans?

No, this gun nut isn't qualified to be human or hold a gun in a public place.

Dental now painless

Another dentist was killed today after being lured from the sanctuary of his home by the promise of free Novocaine. Pictures were posted to the internet showing he was decapitated and his skin ripped from his body.

His killers responded to the Associated Press. 'We did not know this man was a community favorite. What we did know was that he had caused pain and anguish throughout his career. It was his time to go and people should thank us.'

When asked about the Novocaine ... "That is just a false accusation. The Novocaine was never in any danger. We had a license from Canada for public transportation and display of the drug. Our people were trained in the handling and usage of Novocaine as a dental lure. Never at any time, before or after the kill, was there any chance of the general population becoming numb.'

Ben Carson can save us!

Ben Carson, Ben Carson, Ben Carson!

I get his email blasts. Love them. He sure sells a lot of advertising for a political candidate.

I can get the wrinkles removed from my face without surgery. Damn! Can I get new hair from a bottle, too?

The United States dollar will be worthless when a new currency is issued in October. Lucky for me I can buy gold now.

Ben's advertisers can also dissolve 50 years of artery clogging plaque through an accidental discovery. Bye bye to my blood pressure medicine, chest pains, and no more cholesterol.

Ben's advertisers can fix the problems with my penis, stop the aging process, and help with my knee pain.

Hell, if this man can solve all my health problems while selling me gold, he must be the man to run the country? Right?

Progressive Insurance claim

Ah the wonders of good faith.

I presented my request to the Mr. Mitul Patel with the Norcross office of Progressive Insurance by phone yesterday.

Little prick.

He kept putting his phone on mute or hold while I was talking. Then saying, Oh. I think my phone is cutting out. I didn't hear what you said.

Very funny, Mr. Patel.

My wife was burned on the face and hand by the air bag. We've visited her oncologist about the burns and examination of her chemo port. The port connects with her aorta.

So Mr. Patel offered $2,500 to settle.

I said I'd have to think about it.

Should have said, my brain is breaking up. I can't understand what you're suggesting.

I survived the 60's until I turned 60

Jimi Hendrix was playing the guitar. He played it behind his back, with his teeth while going down on this chick, Janis Joplin. She was moaning and crooning in a gravelly voice about a John named McGee. The pulsing orgasms of the setting sun framed the stage.

I dropped more brown acid and tripped on past the post coital cuddles. The downer dry mouth woke me and Boom! It is today! A black man lives in the White House and Red Necks with guns guard the Jolly Green Marines. Jeeps come with four doors and gays in married pairs. Jesus Freaks rebuilt the Temple and sold it to corporate person-hoods. Gold Freaks wave signs on street corners declaring the Note is dead, killed by Fred. Bruce Jenner puts the seat down and stands up for women. Teen girls all wear the same Barbie boobs and plastic smiles.

There's a war in some country we want to own and we lost a war in a country no one now owns. If you're sick enough, you can have hash. Maybe. Smokes come with an extra set of batteries and cars get a charge outside the bar. Johnny De Law takes moving pictures proving guilt of the innocent dead.

So it goes all Slaughter House Five but I survived the 60's until I turned 60.

What shape will boredom take tonight?

Progressive claim

July 24, 2014 2:39 pm

Called and left message for Progressive's adjuster who can't take my call and will call back by the end of the next business day. If I called before 4 pm today.

All bills are in.

It will be 3 weeks on Monday. How long does it take to contact a witness and settle a claim?

Progressive claim

Progressive has not contacted me since Friday.

Reminding everyone. On Friday, only one more witness needed to be contacted before we could settle the claim.

Must be a very long distance phone call.

Update on Progressive Claim

Late with doing this.

As of Friday, communication was good. Some messages and phone calls were missed timed. A message for me was left on my wife's phone. I called not knowing the message had been left. My wife can't use her cell phone while at work. Didn't get to read the message until hours after it was sent.

As of Friday, Progressive continues to investigate my wife's liability in the accident. Some one explain this to me.

Other driver at fault and has made voluntary statement to police of his fault. Police cited him.

My wife's car was thrown into a traffic barrier. The barrier did stop her from entering oncoming lanes of traffic. Impact with the barrier certainly did a lot of damage to the car. More than impact with the truck.

So, does it mean something like ... my wife was negligent in some way? If she has liability then hell yes it does.

I see it like this. My wife steered her car away from a head on impact. Despite swerving away, the cars impacted with her car redirected into a traffic barrier.

She had a right to self preservation. If someone turns head on into you line of travel, you damn better serve away from a head on collision.

Are we going to be punished, is she going to be blamed for some of the damages?

Ask Progressive.

Progressive claim

Just another update.

It's now 10 days since the collision. Only one phone call has ever been initiated by Progressive. That was the one asking my wife to make a recorded statement.

No effort to help us with a rental. No offer on property.

I've always abeen the one to call.

As of 2:30 today, I asked where to send our medical bills.

Friday, July 10, 2015

Progressive Insurance aka The Progressive Corporation

Progressive has had fives days to get this claim handled in terms of calling us.

I've initiated all contact.

The first adjuster has never spoken to me.

I reached his supervisor. Now another adjuster has been assigned. But, they refused to give me any contact information.

Because of that and their refusal to lay out a time table, steps to the process, and a status, I'm blogging and Facebook-ing.

Start here:

I've updated Facebook. 2:47 PM

Seems Progressive responded very quickly once 'social media' I didn't time stamp it.

Hall County's Budget and the duty of Government

I wanted to attend the Hall County budget meetings but couldn't. Had I gone, here's what I would have said.

Good evening and thank you for letting me speak about the budget issues.

As you discuss the budget, remember, you're not the federal government with borders to defend, currency to protect, and international affairs to manage.

No, your jobs are much harder. On your small stage, one county, you must deliver Justice. Without Justice there is no government.

Justice on the personal and situational lever can be very expensive but easy to understand. If we find an orphaned baby, we take it in. Give it comfort and shelter. Clothe it. Bathe it. Feed it. Give it educational opportunities. And help the child grow into a responsible member of our society. Easy but expensive.

If, as Commissioners, you find a man standing before you at budgetary hearings who says, "My house is very valuable. It's the most important thing in my life. But, because of you, I can't enjoy it. You're stealing my happiness with your excessive and burdensome tax rates. Cut my taxes so I can be happy again."

How do you deliver Justice to such a man? Do you go with cheap and easy by not cutting taxes? Or, do you give him what he deserves?

He deserves frustration, anger, and bitterness as these are the rewards of selfishness, pride, and greed. Not easy to confront another adult and then endure their rebukes. That's the expensive part of Justice at the personal and situational level.

There's another level to county wide Justice. Time.

County government covers more time than three public meetings on the budget. It's more time than a year, the budget term. It's generational.

My grandfather was a farmer. My Dad a soldier and factory worker. My children are grown. And, my grandchildren growing. Justice also means honoring past labor, acknowledging existing struggles, and preparing a future.

As you contemplate the annual budget for your county, the job is not about juggling a few accounts or balancing a checkbook. Your first duty is to Justice. Justice within the county on a personal and situational level and across the time span of five generations.

Thank you.

Southern Honor

In April of 1864, an army of over 5,000 Confederate Infantry and Calvary overran Fort Pillow.

"The fort consisted of a dirt parapet, approximately 6 to 8 feet high, and formed a 125-foot semicircle. Built on a steep bluff that descended rapidly to the Mississippi, the fort faced east. To the north, a small stream, Cool Creek, entered the river. To the south, a small town consisting of storage buildings and bunkhouses sat in a ravine below the fort."

The Great Southern General, Nathan B. Forrest, described this dirt fort and the battle as follows, " I cannot compliment too highly the conduct of Colonels Bell and McCulloch and the officers and men of their brigades, which composed the forces of Brigadier-General Chalmers. They fought with courage and intrepidity, and without bayonets assaulted and carried one of the strongest fortifications in the country."

"My loss in the engagement was 20 killed and 60 wounded," Report of Maj. Gen. Nathan B. Forrest, C. S. Army, April 26, 1864. "We captured 164 Federals, 75 negro troops, and about 40 negro women and children"

Oh the proud descendants of these brave soldiers enjoy retelling this story of 'courage and intrepidity.' Less than 500 armed Black and White Union soldiers confined to a 125 semicircle wall of dirt defeated by an army of 5,000.

How about a map to show some details of the assault?

The dirt fort remains as a National Historic Landmark called Fort Pillow State Park.

Union survivors who escaped capture were less than 100. No Black soldiers survived capture. Forrest captured some 75 Black soldiers and some 40 Black women. Forrest did not consider them prisoners of war. Many would be lynched by the Southern troops during the following march. Bodies were left hanging in trees as a warning.

How can a minister be a Liberal?

How can a man of faith be a Liberal and support abortion?

"I am Mike Parker, a man of faith, a husband, a father, a son, a grandfather, and a grandson. But, no one asked about the apparent contradictions in being a father and a son, or in being a grandfather and a grandson. You've only seen one possible contradiction; that a minister, or any man of Faith, could vote Democratic or self label as a Liberal.

Just as I am more than Mike Parker, father, son, grandfather, and grandson; members of the Democratic Party act and react in a complex world with many interrelationships and apparent contradictions.

Generals order soldiers to their death. Police shoot people. It's okay for 12 randomly selected people to kill another human being. So how can Mike Parker, a man of faith, kill unborn people.

I don't. Shocking as it seems, I haven't killed anyone in my life. In context of your question, through society, I have ordered soldiers to their deaths. I ordered police to shoot people on the streets. I created the death penalty and the socially guilt free jury process.

That wasn't what you wanted to hear. You wanted me to say, 'My Faith doesn't allow me to support abortion.' So you could say, 'You disobey God's will by being a Liberal.'

You don't know God's will. You don't know me. And, you don't know anything about my faith. I'm not telling you anything about me. I don't want you for a friend. I don't want you knowing the name of my dog. I'm not sharing pictures of my grandson with you. I'm getting away from you. After I give you a piece of my mind.

My faith doesn't say there's a place up in the stars called Heaven. There's no burning place within the earth resembling any concept of Hell. My faith says Heaven is here and now. Hell is here and now. No rewards later. No punishment later. Now is where I exist and where my faith exists and where I can create Heaven or Hell.

Where do I get such a faith? I'll tell you how.

At some point, I faced a decision. I'm not sure if my parents forced me to that decision. Or a minister, a teacher, or an author. Forced to decide between right and wrong? No. I was asked if there is a right and a wrong. By answering, 'Yes, there is a Right and a Wrong,' - a good and an evil - I accepted the human responsibility of doing right or wrong. Of helping or harming others by action and inaction. Of having a goal.

My goal? By my actions, I have a goal to create more Right than Wrong. Stop Wrong when I see it and I'm able. And, always strive to know the difference. When I do this, and do it with others, I can create a 'Heaven,' even if that Heaven is temporary and fleeting. If I don't act to the Good and the Right, I create a lasting sensation of Hell. For myself. For others. Perhaps, in a modern world so filled with potential Weapons of Mass Destruction, I have the power to create a lasting Hell filled with burning, dying, and suffering people.

My faith doesn't end with just a Heaven or just a Hell. Just Good and Evil. My faith includes the duality of Good and Evil, the root of all contradictions. I may have good intentions. I may choose the right actions. And, still cause evil which falls on others. It is not enough to choose Good over Evil. It is not enough to have Good intentions. I must have the best possible outcome or I have created no Good. And Hell follows on my failures.

So when you doubt my Faith can choose abortion, you deny me the right to do the most good. Cutting a zygote from my body or the body of a woman, is little more than cutting off an arm or a leg. There is a loss. It's a very painful and lasting loss. But my FAITH demands I live in the here and now. That I live for the here and now. With the people who are here and now. Not in the hunt for a mythical ever after among the stars.

I have answered to my Faith. I choose. I choose to do the most good when I can not choose to do all Good. Just as juries condemn people to death. Generals kill their soldiers. Police act as executioners.
I choose to believe in Good and Evil. Here. Now. At the same time. And I declare abortion both a good and an evil not as an act or an intention, but as a result. How much Heaven or Hell does it create, in the here and now, among the mothers and the daughters; the grandmothers and granddaughters; and the people willing to do Good for no reward. Here. And, Now."

Violence has again struck the streets of our nation this time in Baltimore. How does this violence compare to Shay's Rebellion? That rebellion helped topple a government formed under the Articles of Confederation. It birthed our Constitution and our strong, central government. Time has buried Shay's Rebellion, its negatives and positives. Without that violent rebellion, what would we be today but Balkanized countries separated by ethic, social, and economic differences? Jefferson commented on Shay's Rebellion with a quote often remembered and seldom understood. "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

Had we seen Shay's disorganized and undisciplined army of 4,000 looting the country side for food, we would have, as people did then, called them traitors, criminals, and thugs. We would used whatever violence needed to stop them. We would have tried and convicted their leaders as was done then. Some would hang as they did then. It is not the actions which separate a riot from a rebellion, it is whether the goal is justice or injustice.

To quote Jefferson's reaction beyond the one line, "[Their motives] were founded in ignorance, not wickedness. The people can not be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to liberty. And what country can preserve it's liberties if their people [fail to] preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them."

As Jefferson suggests, we must set ourselves 'right as to the facts,' before any trial, public judgement, pardon, or punishment. If we act, and judgement in social media and cable TV is action, without facts, a summary of motivations, as well as review of the actions, then we will not pacify the rebellion or ever be able to pardon ourselves.

Locked out and hungry

My mother told me a story about ice boxes and refrigerators. Being a country girl and a child of the 1930's, my mom knew a lot about practical things.

Before the average family owned refrigerators, they keep some food cool with blocks of ice in insulated cabinets called 'ice boxes.' Of course, the ice melted and had to be replaced often.

Mom and Dad upgraded from an ice box to a refrigerator using a very novel form of consumer credit involving a pay as you go plan. To open the refrigerator door, Mom had to insert a quarter into a lock box. Once a week the salesman would come collect the quarters. When she told me this story, I thought it was great idea, a great innovation in credit.

Maybe she didn't like it. She never said. She did ask me, "What happens when there's no room for another quarter?"
It took me years to understand her lesson.

I could act with honor and pay my dues but still be locked out and hungry.

Racists promote fake video of Michael Brown beating elderly man

Another fake out using video.

The above video was taken in Texas. It allegedly show Michael Brown beating an elderly man. The video shows a horror too common in our society. Not just a camera operator taking part in a crime, but a planned beating and robbery of a helpless man by a bunch of young men.

But, it isn't Michael Brown. And, the fair skinned caption writer got 13,000,000 people to watch it. That's 13 million people who did not know who was in the video and assumed it was Michael Brown of Ferguson.

Do young black men look so much alike that white people can be fooled by this crap? Mike Brown was 300 pounds and 6 foot four inches tall. The tallest person in the video is the victim, an elderly man. All the muggers appear to of average size. There's no giant in the group.

It was a caption created by a racist for a racist audience.

Break your preconceptions or live with your invisible chains.

More on the back story at Link.

Snopes debunks it.

Another fake video on the internet created by Republicans

It's a horrible scene but it's not as described. It's a funeral in 2012 hit by a suicide bomber. If you watch the entire video, the body, still wrapped in white linen, lays on the ground. Had a bomb on the body been detonated, there would be no body. Had it been an spontaneous event immediately after a shooting, why is there a camera man focused not on the body but on the bomb? Yes, the camera and camera man are focused on the bomb before it explodes. Most likely we are hearing the camera man chanting to Allah after the bombing.

So some twisted a funeral into a bombing attack/political statement then some one else twisted the bombing video into a hate engine for Conservative Americans. Over a million people have viewed the video. More than 130,000 have shared it. Over 30,000 have clicked "Like" on Facebook.

Gotta love the Conservatives who just got manipulated into enjoying the murder of innocent mourners.
