Hall County Republicans

Well, I'm not sure he's a Republican, but he's stupid enough to be one. Maybe even be the local head of the local chapter of the "I'm dumb. I'm proud. I'm a Republican" club.

So who is he?

Jim Mewborne, author of the following letter in the Gainesville Times. (link)

US government spirals into total socialism

I strongly agree with the letter writer regarding government handouts (Saturday's Community Forum). While he referred to Alexander Tyler and democracy, it should also be noted that Tyler said democracies progress through the following sequences:

1. From bondage to spiritual faith;
2. From spiritual faith to great courage;
3. From the great courage to liberty;
4. From liberty to abundance;
5. From abundance to selfishness;
6. From selfishness to complacency;
7. From complacency to apathy;
8. From apathy to dependence;
9. From dependence back again to bondage.

If you study the history of our government, you will see that we are now at sequence 7 and bordering rather closely to sequence 8. Our government was originally capitalistic, but it has become more and more socialist and, to my way of thinking, is headed toward total socialism.

While I don't consider myself a pessimist, I am truly concerned over the direction of our government and what the future holds not only for us to more importantly, for our descendants.

There is no such quotation for an Alexander Tyler.

This is one of those falsehoods that has become an Urban Legend.

Several people have debunked it, including the Library of Congress.

Here are two links to check.

The "Tyler" quote is very likely entirely fictitious. There was a Scottish historian/professor who wrote several books in the late 1700s and early 1800s. But, his last name was Tytler. His whole name was Lord Woodhouselee, Alexander Fraser Tytler.

I wish people would fact check before writing a letter to the Editor.

Secretary Rice again caught lying to the American People

When will it ever end?

"How could anyone know terrorists were going to fly planes into the World Trade Center on 9/11? No one knew. We didn't know."

How is that a lie? The question isn't could we have known the exact to the minute planning of a terrorist attack. The question was should we, with what was known, prevented the attack by warning major airlines of terrorist chatter about airplanes and airlines?

We knew terrorists were chattering about airplanes but never warned the airlines.

Avoiding the right question, asking a ridiculous question, and then using the ridiculous answer as proof ... that is lying. Not answering a straight question is lying.

Now Rice says Carter was told NOT to meet with Hamas.

Carter says Rice is lying.

What did he really expect from Rice? The truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the Truth?

No, Carter never expected that from Rice. Neither did I. Did anyone else?

Full Story at the following link. Don't bother reading it if you think Osama was living with Saddam in September 2001, or that tons of WMD got buried in the desert, moved across an international border without being seen by the CIA, or that the attacks of 9/11 were completely fabricated by Israel.

Asking if Obama and Osama are brothers?

My first email of the morning hurt. The kind of hurt one feels down in the bones. That bruised bone pain that lingers for days. So let's all start our day facing the pain of Christianity and politics.

Watch this video at http://www.wyff4.com/news/15948849/detail.html

First, we should strip this 'church' of its tax exempt status. The underlying message isn't a question but a rather offensive effort to manipulate the outcome of a political contest. That political contest would be the Presidential Election.

Why is this elderly pastor questioning Obama's faith in a Christian God but not questioning the faith of John McCain?

Does the pastor think we're so stupid we think our first name or last name determines our type of faith as well as our place in Heaven?

No, we're not that stupid. But, our pastor is that stupid.

That son of a bitch should just go ahead and call Obama a Muslim sand nigger.

Government isn't the problem.

Lot's of people smarter than me have had their say about politics and the American people. Some of the curses leveled at America are worth remembering and repeating. But, as I write and research in my effort to improve politics, I want nothing from those curses. Not even to repeat them.

Until the next time I speak with a Republican. Then, all the curses of history and all the alcohol in Ireland won't improve my point of view.

My point of view at these times is quite simple. Republicans are the dumbest sons of bitches ever born into the human race.

Democrats already understand this point of view.

Republicans don't understand anything.

John McCain and his gas holiday

Today, Iraq is a war zone, more so than before our 'act of liberation' also known as an invasion in real terms.

Future President McCain has a specific reaction to this problem.

A 'gas tax holiday.'

I'd try to ridicule this idea but I can't say that I need to pile on anymore.

The GOP will continue to 'buy votes' with tax cuts while borrowing money from China and the Middle Eastern oil sheiks.

A gas tax holiday will yield nothing to a child in school but will make sure we have to borrow more money from China to buy more gas from Arabs.

A pimp is not a leader.
