Reparations and collectives

I feel confused about the concept of racism. Many have clear ideas on racism. Maybe I take too broad of a meaning when engaging some in internet comments.

Racism does have many meanings but only mine matters! I never said that but I hear it in myself and in others.

So, the Anti-Defamation League offers this definition:

Racism is the belief that a particular race is superior or inferior to another, that a person’s social and moral traits are predetermined by his or her inborn biological characteristics. Racial separatism is the belief, most of the time based on racism, that different races should remain segregated and apart from one another.

Kind of narrows it down some. Do you ever hear this version?

Racism was slavery.

No. I thought not and I feel good that you haven't heard that one. Racism isn't over even if slavery is less visible around the world. Or, to Americanize the discussion, even if American, Southern, plantation, Pre-Civil War, slavery disappeared more than 100 years ago.

Weeks ago, I heard about a 'collective.' As in, "I want my collective to rise up and dominate all others."

I let that slide past me knowing I couldn't know what the speaker meant.

IF, and that's a big if as usual, if the collective's membership excludes or includes based on race,...

Maybe I felt no need to ask. Maybe I assumed the Black speaker meant 'my race' over any other race. Maybe I waited to learn more since I miss some nuance in discussions.

I got some clarity today as the discussion had recently turned to reparations much to the surprise of many. I said reparations and the discussion of reparation harmed the speakers point of view. That 'reparations' is a word which triggers spin. As in, the Black race is sitting around waiting for something to be given to them.

Yeah, I walked into that with my eyes open. Take a look at the starting point, the following internet meme.



Did I miss something or should I be moving away from this individual's collective before it does dominate 'my collective' and impose reparations as a 'Final Solution' to 'racism?

Or wait a while longer hoping for clarity.

Clinton killed the Ol' Red Rooster ... invaded Honduras ... and shot JR ... from the Grassy Knoll ... while defending ...

There's been another anti-Hillary Clinton meme floating around Facebook.



The author or any poster associated with the meme doesn't matter. The exact accusation doesn't matter.

The statement that an US Secretary of State started and ran a military coup in the Americas matters. That didn't happen. But, the meme in its many forms smears all of us, not just a Democratic Presidential Candidate, the position of Secretary of State, and the sitting President, Barrack Obama.

We didn't start the problem. We didn't invade. We let the coup or Constitutional Crisis evolve on its own.

Some deny this. Some use the meme in an effort to show Clinton as dishonest.

That's just bait.

We have toppled sovereign countries without an invasion. We've invaded countries by proxies with the example being the failed Bay of Pigs incursion. And, we have recently invaded two countries, Iraq and Afghanistan, to implement Regime Change.

Not a good record.

But, we didn't get caught, yet, arresting the President of Honduras, flying him to Costa Rica, and holding him without trial on a military base.

We didn't get caught because we didn't do it. Trust me. Had we done it, by all Republican sentiments, our government would have fucked it up.

So much for the successful and secret military coup led by our Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton.

Economic history from 2006, 2007, and 2008

On May 10, 2006, the Fed said the following in a press release:

"The Committee sees growth as likely to moderate to a more sustainable pace, partly reflecting a gradual cooling of the housing market ... "

So they raised the interest rates for fed funds to 5 percent.

"As yet, the run-up in the prices of energy and other commodities appears to have had only a modest effect on core inflation, ongoing productivity gains have helped to hold the growth of unit labor costs in check ... "

So does that mean, "Wages have stayed the same while electric bills, gas bills, water bills, and gasoline at the pump have gone up with the net effect being only a modest amount of price increases in meat, vegetables, and bread?"

"The Committee judges that some further policy firming may yet be needed to address inflation risks but emphasizes that the extent and timing of any such firming will depend importantly on the evolution of the economic outlook ..."

"So that means, "Things are going well. We don't expect any changes unless we have to raise your mortgage rates again."

All in May of 2006, before the global economic meltdown blind sided the smartest Bankers in the USA.

Okay then. Today's fun.

Clearly this fountain picture if male centric representing the old codgers dream of taking a huge whiz and rejoining the maleness ritual sometimes known as a circle jerk.

However, an over head picture of the same fountain would show a blossoming flower receiving multiple fertilization.

I'd choose to believe it is a bunch of little boys pissing on a rock.



And what of this fountain picture?

A uterus drenched in sperm, resisting and armor clad.

Or, the diseased, older male penis, coated by time, clogged, and swollen.

Maybe it's just a pineapple.
