WDUN's open political forum.

Let's call it what it really is, W-DUMBgate.

The candidate's weren't given a format until yesterday, Thursday at 11:43 am. Let's just say noon, less than 48 hours out from the event.

Who set the format? Martha Zollar and WDUN who also sent out the email to the candidates.

Here's the text of the email:

Greetings to all Candidates, Campaign Managers and Organizers,

Martha Zoller would like to express her appreciation for your participation in Saturday's live political forum. It is sure to provide good information for the audience and assist them in their voting decisions.

Attached you will find a forum agenda. Please note your time slot and arrive at the Thurmond McRae Lecture Hall thirty minutes before your designated time.

Also attached is a fact sheet that should answer most, if not all, of your questions regarding the forum, the audience, marketing for the forum, location information, and driving directions.

The email came at 11:43 from Lxxxx Hxxxx

WOW! Brenau gets no respect from Martha, not even an honorable mention in the freaken email.

What happened to, "'This is the first time BULLI has undertaken anything of this magnitude with such a wide range of candidates and surrogates involved," said Kathy Amos, director of the university´s non-credit adult learning program.'"

I guess I should start printing those T-shirts, "What Did Bulli Do?"

But, at least some truth was put in the public eye by Brenau.

"BULLI credits Zoller for quickly assembling the program participants."

I'd be real careful about giving Martha too much credit since she wouldn't call it the Brenau forum or the Bulli forum. So why put anymore lipstick on this pig? All of this strongly echoes the rumor on the street that Martha Zoller/Nathan "No Deal" Deal set up the forum.

And, that Martha will cut off responses from "liberals" to present her ultra-conservative views.

In my humble opinion, the use of surrogates undermines the very purpose of an academic setting. As well as Brenau using W-DUMB's Martha Hollar instead of a neutral, academic panel.

A surrogate can inform the audience of nothing not already known about a candidate, nothing not already in print or other media, and cheats the other participants who personally are available.

The lowest thing is sending Casey Cagle to represent Saxby "I can't go to Viet Nam because I have a trick knee" Chambliss. Cagle gets a free campaign appearance for his 2010 bid for the Governor's Mansion. Saxby and his campaign doesn't have to answer any questions. And, Trick Knee gets to hobble all the way to the bank from his fundraiser at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel.

Very, very bad form on Brenau's part.

But, great political maneuvering by the GOP and Martha Zollar. They don't have to show up. The GOP can send an stuffed suit, or an empty bra as the case may be, to regurgitate RED Kool-Aid.

I'm boycotting what Brenau has called an "event that is designed only to educate and inform the BULLI students and the public."

And, I hope the public gets educated in backroom manipulation and politics as usual.
