In Florida, Governor Rick Scott has been supporting drug tests on the basis of any drug use is harmful to children.
"Any illegal drug use in a family is harmful and even abusive to a child," Scott said. "We should have a zero tolerance policy for illegal drug use in families."
So how does Governor Scott enforce his zero tolerance policy as a core, family value?
It ain't at the Waffle House, McDonald's, or Publix.
If your children are truly hungry, in need of basic nutrition, and have no other source for hope .... Rick Scott has a cup for you! It's at your expense. Refundable if you pass. Before your children get fed through TANF.
Poor people have the same Constitutional rights as property owners, corporations, and stockholders. In this case, a right to be free from illegal search and seizure.
