Former Vice President Cheney lied on TV. Again.
Cheney said the President is the highest ranking law enforcement officer in the United States. Someone get him a copy of the Constitution!
In the Sunday interview, he said, "I knew about the waterboarding, not specifically in any one particular case, but as a general policy that we had approved. The fact of the matter is the Justice Department reviewed all those allegations several years ago." OPS! He opened his mouth and put his foot in it.
Now the man is saying he knows far less about waterboarding and the specific information gathered from specific detainees.
In January of 2009, Cheney said waterboarding "been used with great discrimination by people who know what they're doing and has produced a lot of valuable information and intelligence."
Well, Mr. Former Vice President, how do you know that waterboarding was used with "great discrimination" if you only know about waterboarding as a general policy?
In December 2008, Robert Mueller, the Director of the FBI since July 5, 2001, had stated however that despite Bush Administration claims that waterboarding has "disrupted a number of attacks, maybe dozens of attacks", he does not believe that evidence obtained by the U.S. government through enhanced interrogation techniques such as waterboarding "disrupted an attack"
OPS! Waterboarding did NOT disrupt a single attack. According to the FBI. Anyway,.
