They've turned to politicians, bureaucrats, businessmen and union reps to try to save their jobs at three Atlantic City casinos scheduled to close soon. Now, hundreds of soon-to-be unemployed dealers, cocktail servers and hotel workers are turning to what many say could be their last, best chance.
Do the casino workers not see the irony in praying to God for new casinos?
How does one start that prayer?

Blackjack, draw poker, and a game called roulette,
The game doesn't matter as long as they bet?
"This isn't play: People are losing their homes and the only means of supporting their families," she said. "This is very scary for people who are in a situation they never expected. Some people put their entire lives and souls into these jobs, and someone just comes along and snatches it away from you. It is devastating."
Private industry came into Atlantic City with huge promises of casino jobs and trickle down economics. The city and its people rolled the dice until Snake Eyes shut the players down.
Georgia wants to legalize gambling. It fits our Governor and his far Right religious supporters if we judge the future on Atlantic City's failure. Not only did the rubes pray for luck, eventually the workers pray for jobs.
