So ... Georgia's values are completely out of step with the rest of the country and most of the world.

And, that's a damn good thing says one of the Republican idiots representing Hall County in the State Legislature.

Yup. We need two Confederate holidays a year. Three more statues to Lee, Jackson, and Davis carved into the back side of Stone Mountain. We must support Judge Roy Moore the pedophile before a Democrat destroys God! We must not let poverty become a metric for providing healthcare because the poor should just die! And, we've added five Commandments to the Ten proposed by Moses. [The ones by Moses were just suggestions] We have assault rifles in elementary schools locked in cabinets because our active shooter policy remains Shelter in Place but the Gun Store needed sales. We have designed housing codes which outlaw Tiny Houses because we already have trailers.

So when will the rest of the country catch up to us and draft a Religious Liberty Law?

I rate him a 9.5 on the GOP scale of Tool.

Fairness in the Proposed Georgia Sales Tax Plan

The proposal requires elimination of the income tax and dependency on collection of a state sales tax. The supporters and authors proclaim a consumption based tax as more fair to everyone than an income tax.

So let's tax everyone in the same manner, for fairness reasons.

So, it's fair to tax a college student, married with a child, working part time in the school library, in the same way as a unmarried college graduate, working their first post graduate job in their chosen field of study.

So, it's fair to tax my aging, gray haired Mother, living on that legendary fixed income, in the same way as the 40 something cardiologist who performed my Mother's by pass surgery.

So it's fair, to tax the single mom who dropped out of high school to give birth to a baby, conceived by incest or rape, in the same way as the father of the child, who denied the crime, escaped justice by calling the under-aged mother a slut, a whore, and a liar with the help of a public defender, appointed by the court and an all male jury?

As said more eloquently by so many others, life isn't fair. The governments must tax and spend, based on solid goals to address the unfair nature, not of life which cannot be legislated, but of income and position within unfair and unequal social and economic systems.

Dylan Roof's supporters in Georgia

Last August, the Roswell Police Department fired an officer for flying the Confederate flag. On Monday, a Georgia judge sentenced two other flag-wavers to more than a decade of prison time each. Neither incident is related to protections under the First Amendment. But both incidents are related to the guns owned by Dylan Roof.

The Roswell police officer said that she didn’t realize that some found the flag to be offensive. By her incredible statement, she thinks that flying the flag doesn’t make a negative statement of any sort. She also said the flag had been flying from her house for over a year.

About a year places the flag on the house just about the time that racist Dylan Roof shot and killed nine people at Emmanuel African Methodist Episcopal church, home to the oldest black congregation in the Old South.

The judge, who sentenced the two far more aggressive flag-wavers to decades in prison, declared the duo committed a hate crime during their flag-waving and drinking convoy. The judge went one step further. He questioned why the 15 members of the flag-waving convoy weren’t arrested by police but driven away from the crime scene with the protection of the police. The judge said the flag-waving confrontations were connected to the Charleston shootings using the phrase, not “an accident.”

Both the unthinking police officer’s flag displays and the drunken, terrorist convoy celebrated the Dylan Roof's gunsmoke in Charleston, not the cannon smoke at the Battle of Fort Sumter.

Private industry does face plant. Workers turn to prayers.

I won't ridicule anyone facing unemployment even if prayer is being seen as valid step in their career path.

They've turned to politicians, bureaucrats, businessmen and union reps to try to save their jobs at three Atlantic City casinos scheduled to close soon. Now, hundreds of soon-to-be unemployed dealers, cocktail servers and hotel workers are turning to what many say could be their last, best chance.

Do the casino workers not see the irony in praying to God for new casinos?

Maybe now he'll stop asking me for money to get him over the top. Whatever it means to 'get over the top.' Bell should have learned by now that he's not Herman Cain. As if anyone wants to be Herman Cain. Herman Cain is a loser. Bell does have that to share.

Is Bell done in politics? Best guess is No. His ego won't accept being just like the rest of us. Ego can be good. If you have a few other things to go with it like humility for a start. Wait. Doesn't humility negate ego?

Lutz ... sociopathic narcissistic personality with a Jesus complex. Perfect Republican. Should have won running against s candidate named, Buddy. If nothing else, Lutz was first on the ballot.

Here's what I've said to both these ... dudes. Clerks balance checkbooks. Leaders make things work.

Two more Georgia children killed in shooting accidents

Children die. Too often and too soon. Disease takes their lives. Birth defects still their hearts. All parents and potential parents face a risk of losing a child.

But shot to death by a brother or a sister in their own home?

Two accidental shootings in Georgia this weekend killed two kids.

Each with a different story. "My little sister wanted me to hold her 12 gauge shotgun. It went off while I was unloading it." If that is what happened, oh, the hole left in the parents hearts.

The second 'accidental shooting' resulted in an arrest. Different city in Georgia. Different situation. Different color skin?

Meanwhile, police in Savannah are investigating the death of an 11-year-old boy who was killed by a gunshot while he and a friend handled the weapon in west Savannah.

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police say a 12-year-old, who they described as a playmate, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, reckless conduct and possession of a firearm by a person under 18.

So one 12 year old from west Savannah is facing charges of involuntary manslaughter, reckless conduct, and possession of a firearm by a person under 18. He's black.

The other family was white.

Guns do not provide justice. It seems like Georgia doesn't care about providing justice either.

GOP regulates Vidalia Onions. Activist judge says No.

As if we've done everything that we can do in Georgia to destroy our national image.

Now, we're regulating farmers and when they can harvest their crops.

How is that smaller government? How does that roll back regulations and government red tape?

Those of us who like Vidalia onions better wake up. The GOP has judged our onions. They are not as sweet as they should be!

So in August, Ag Commissioner Gray Black banned all shipments until April 1st. Nope. Not an April Fools joke. Just an old fool telling farmers when and how to run a farm.

Makes Sense to Me

A Georgia couple, redneck descendants of Confederate heroes, had 9 children.

They went to the doctor to see about getting Dave 'fixed.' The doctor gladly started the required procedure and asked them what finally made them make the decision. Why, after 9 children, would they want to choose to do this?

Dave replied that they had read in a recent article that 1 out of 10 children being born in the United States was Mexican and they didn't want to take a chance on having a Mexican baby because neither of them could speak Spanish.

Ain't they dumb? Mexican kids also speak English.

Tragic gun death or more gun nuts at play

Another one bites the dust. Another hot shot gun owner shot his friend to death during ... target practice.

If the bullet had hit an obstruction and hit his buddy. That would be a tragic accident.

No, the shooter shot his buddy who was behind the target.

God help me. Couldn't they find a way to hang the target? "Dude, I can't find a place to hang the target. Since they're only practice bullets, I'll hold the target up in front of me like this." Then, bang he's dead. Sounds to me like something that could happen in Georgia.

The facts are just as bad. Two guys are having a little target practice. They don't communicate with each other. One walks down range behind the target while the other keeps shooting. When the shooter notices his buddy is missing, he looks behind the target. There's a dead man, his friend.

It remains difficult to believe. But, some how it happened.

Georgia giving tax cuts to high school football teams

Our beloved Georgia started giving 40% tax credits to Hollywood companies a few years ago. The tax credits are salable.

Let's say a Hollywood company makes a film in Georgia and they spend $1,000,000. They could get a tax credit of $400,000. Since the production costs are paid during filming and profits counted much later, the Hollywood company can sell the $400,000 to an existing Georgia company.

So at the worst, Company A has made no money and has no Georgia tax liability but has a Georgia tax credit of $400,000. They sell the credit for $360,000 paying a 10% fee to a broker. They still have no Georgia tax liability. A Georgia political insider just made $40,000. Let's say Delta bought the credit. Reducing their taxes.

Now, the positive argument goes, Georgia comes out ahead with increased jobs.

So, will Company A create enough jobs to pay back the $400,000? The GOP says Yes!

As a matter of fact, the GOP likes giving salable tax credits to attract entertainment.

The Georgia House of Give-away-slaters are applying the principle to high school football. If a Hollywood or Texas hight school football team will pay in Georgia, the coach will get two footballs signed by the Goobernator, 3 jock straps worn by interior lineman in a professional game, and $400,000 in salable tax credits.

Why?

There's study by the Hermitage Foundation on high school football. The sport adds a cool billion dollars to the national economy. The study included only money spent on transportation, tickets, and tailgating. Head injuries, legal sales of burgers, and EMTs were excluded in the figures.

So Georgia wants to be the destination of every high school football team in American. And, they're willing to pay in salabe tax credits.

Ethics Staff dying

I hate using this source but it's one of the better articles on ethics and staffing in Georgia.

Yes, our Ethics Commission has never been equal to the task of suppressing or punishing politicians who have an "I'm above the law" ego.

I filed a complaint there. It was dismissed. The rejection happened so quickly, I doubt the contents were read.

Corruption in Georgia Government

A few years ago, I accused our 2nd Lt. Governor Cagle of misleading investors in Southern Heritage Bank by telling them and the SEC that he was a business consultant. He and his agent invented a fake business consulting company. It never had a phone number, phone listing. The Sec. of State deleted the corporation listing when no activity occurred other than the initial filing. I've confirmed details through the FED and the prospectus for Southern Heritage Bank. Since most of the investors were from Hall County and most likely had a personal relationship with then Senator Cagle, they knew his 'business' was a bridal shop.

That is a public record as I filed the complaint with our No Ethics in Government Commission. My complaint was immediately dismissed. A Cagle spokesmodel said something about it involving an old company owned by Cagle.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. An old company that issued a million shares of stock but never existed.

Now that the former Virginia Governor is under investigation, stories are coming out about corruption in all states.

Of all 50 states, Georgia ranks 50th for integrity or whatever name is used for Good Ethics Enforcement.

As his string of recent crimes are investigated, maybe we should think about Lt. Governor Casey Cagle.

Well, Casey isn't his real name. Stacy. That's it. Stacy.

I filed an ethics complaint against Lt. Governor Stacy Cagle in 2009? I alleged the man committed several state ethic violations by never disclosing all his employment positions. With the help of Donald Bloom, Stacy created a corporation called Strateia Group Atlanta, Inc. Stacy was CEO. Mr. Bloom was Secretary and CFO.

Under Georgia Law, Stacy position as CEO and his ownership position should have been disclosed to voters.

Well, I guess not since he's never done that. Never told people he ran a business consulting firm in Atlanta. Never bought a phone listing. I bet he never printed a business card.

I'm sure Mr. Donald Bloom would correct me if I'm wrong.

But, Stacy did list his position as CEO with the SEC and other regulatory agencies. When he formed a bank in Oakwood, Southern Heritage Bank.

I'm still waiting for Mr. Lt. Governor Lowell Stacy Cagle to respond to me.

Did you issue 1 million shares of stock in that corporation?

Did you file any tax returns?

Did you tell the other organizers of the bank you were a business consultant?

Or, did you tell them, "I operate a bridal shop and tux rental store?"

So while Teflon Deal continues to flirt with retirement, let's look at the possible replacement.

Do you have a right to vote?

“The Governor’s proposal to take away people’s right to vote for four constitutional offices is simply wrong. In a state where the right to vote was fought for and advanced, it is insulting to propose taking that right away from people, especially for critical policy making positions that affect so many lives. These offices exist to serve the people, not to be political trophies for the politicians who would like to control them.”

There's a back story to this that I assumed most people knew.

The current lame duck Governor of Georgia got out his 'Sonny to do list' yesterday. From his list he picked out, "Take decision making away from the people."

The right to vote has been contested in the streets and in the battlefields. We won. We proved that monarchs and Kings have no right to appoint councilors and cardinals. Well, that was kind of way down the Right to Vote list, okay?

No one has a right to rule based on a parents station in life. And Sonny Perdue has forgotten that. He wants to amend the Georgia Constitution so that voters don't have to decide who controls executive branches. Perdue wants the future Governor to just make some appointments. These appointees will be just like the councilors and cardinals under King George of England a couple hundred years ago.

Yeah, there's quite an argument that voters just don't have the time to study all the issues or the intelligence to vote for the 'right guy.' And I did say 'guy' for a reason and not to just slam the women around these parts.

But for those who think that, why do we have a Democrat running the Attorney General's Office and a Democrat running the Department of Labor in an all red state?

Maybe Perdue et al know that voters really don't vote a straight party line. After all, we aren't just Republicans. Some of us are independent SOBs.

We fought for a right to vote. Don't let Sonny sell it.
