Voter suppression

We have many voting problems as the Midterm elections race towards us. Not the least, Republican opposition to letting naturalized citizens vote who do not speak English.

There's no problem with those who are here and do not speak our language. The problem lies with those who are here who can hear and do not listen in any language.

Felon shoots family. Had a right to a gun. Are gun rights more important than voting rights in Georgia?. Two similar issues. One as deadly as the other.

Link

The link to the real story comes first in this story. Too complicated for me to explain or spin.

Convicted felon on charges unrelated to having killed his son in a hunting accident years ago, shoots and kills his daughter and her six kids.

Sheriff Schultz identified the victims as Sarah Lorraine Spirit, 28; Kaleb Kuhlmann, 11; Kylie Kuhlmann, 9; Johnathon Kuhlmann, 8; Destiny Stewart, 5; Brandon Stewart, 4; and Alanna Stewart, who was born in June.

Under Florida law, this convicted felon still had a right to a gun. Same as in Georgia.

Yes, convicted felons have a right to own a gun or guns. Just sign some paperwork. Get your gun. Even if you have killed in the past.

Story on gun rights in Georgia which clarify my assertion.

The State Board of Pardons and Paroles restored firearms rights for more than 1,400 felons between 2008 and 2013, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Sunday.

The board restored gun rights for 666 people last year, which is 10 times the number of pardons that restored firearms rights six years ago.

The overall number includes 358 felons who were convicted of violent crimes, 166 who were convicted of drug crimes and 32 who killed another person.

Georgia does spend millions trying to stop voter fraud. So does Georgia restore voting rights to felons? They can. Someone needs to see how many times killers get to vote.

Story from Bloomberg on the huge investigation into voting fraud
allegations.

Here's the lead paragraph:

Georgia’s top elections official gave a nonprofit group that has registered more than 85,000 minority voters until tomorrow to produce every record it has, in what critics say is an effort to suppress minority voting in November’s tight race for the U.S. Senate.

Present details on the fraud allegations,"Investigators [said] they can confirm 25 applications[are under investigation of fraud out] of more than 85,000 submitted to the Georgia Secretary of State’s office.

Story in the AJC.

That's 25 allegations of fraud in 13 counties and 85,000 forms. Horrible. Must be stopped.

Governor's man says, "@LoriGearyWSB uncovers massive voter fraud by Democrats. We now know how Carter [Democratic candidate for Governor] plans to get to those 200,000 new voters he says he needs."

From the Republican candidate for Congress, "The fact that an organization led by a well-known Nunn supporter would attempt to illegally register voters is unacceptable."
