Throwing our money away with tax cuts in 2017

Hang with me as I run this idea down.

The average price for a new car made in the US is just under $24,000.

Last year, the US consumer bought 7,105,162 new cars.

Some math follows:

$24,000 times 7,105,162 equal $168 billion dollars.

The tax cuts from the Republican Party will add $1.5 trillion dollars to the national debt.

My conclusion:

If, for the next 9 years, the federal government would buy the entire annual production run off every car made in America and dumped the cars into the ocean instead of cutting corporate taxes; the middle class would be better off.

At least those making cars, car parts, and selling hot lunches to factory workers.

And, CEO's would still get to drive the Mercedes or BMW of their choice.

Response to Republican repression

Recently, walking through the Oakwood Walmart, I ran into former State Representative, Carl Rogers. Like always, we talked politics. We shared a concern common to candidates and elected officials, voter participation.

Carl spent a lot of money in his campaigns for office. Lots of money. He regretted that spending, so I understood. He would have used it to pay people to go vote. He didn't care if they voted for him. He's not about buying votes or buying an election. No, he was clear on his point. He wanted people to be a part of government and every election.

Former Representative Rogers is a Republican but I'll stand by him being a good man.

His opinion matters and needed to be shared as Hall County, through its Board of Elections, declared ballot access and voter participation a requirement of democratic elections. Who would not stand with Carl on having people polled, not only on the selection of candidates, but on the issues also covered in referendums? Only Craig Lutz, the recent Republican appointee to the Elections Board and the Hall County Republican Party.

Unlike Rogers, Lutz finds democratic inclusion too expensive or 'fiscally irresponsible," his words. I won't rehash his opinion, as the Times covered his remarks. I will stand with Carl Rogers on the issue of government polling the populace through public elections and a free ballot.

The ballot belongs to the people, not to the taxpayer or a temporary government clerk, appointed by the back room leaders of one party, a party which fights only for freedom when freedom is cheap or the ultimate burden of liberty is borne on the backs of the poor.

Today, I announce completion of the Wall with Mexico but did I mention my exceptional victory in the Electoral College? A payment for being ruled?

Oh my head hurts over this one.

Remember that college class you had to take on Philosophy? Painful, wasn't it? So bad, you couldn't even sell the book.

My Little Philosophy Book fell on my head while I was sleeping on my back. Today. Or, maybe yesterday. Damn Dr. Bloom and his literal translations from the original Greek.

So maybe Plato/Socrates said there was a payment due to government for being ruled. WTF!

Loss of freedom? Social contract? Taxes? The concept that I owe a debt to a tyrant sucks.

But, and there's always some but, But, isn't the answer to that a way of separating the men from the boys?

There is a debt owed to government for being ruled. I can't tell you what it is. Answer to yourself. Then, apply that to how you've been voting and what you hope will happen because you voted.

What if we wore our underwear inside out?

First, think about it. Who would know? Who would care? Would you tell someone?

Second, think about how underwear is constructed. SEAMS! The fabric is sewn together with the seams to your skin. Why not put the smooth side against our silky smooth baby bottom for the ultimate in comfort?

Third and most important. Anthony Wiener and the whole Republican Party think from 'inside the boxers.'

Here's what I propose for real men. Tomorrow, turn those seams around. Proudly wear your boxers inside out. Tell no one but wear a face of defiance. Because ...

Today, I think outside the boxers!

Those of you still in briefs or whitie tighties, don't try this. To be as polite as possible, if you are wearing a tight turban, turning it inside out doesn't change a thing.
