After the Vegas disaster pushed the hurricane disasters off the front page, my hatred of guns returned.

So I went down to the local gun store. Got in line and listened to all the reasons for buying a gun.

'My wife said I could have a butter knife or a Glock. She didn't care if a spread butter or blood. She said, 'Just get off the sofa and do something with your life. So, I'll take the Glock with the bayonet mounting rail.'

'I spent the weekend shopping for a new truck. The bank turned me down for the $51,000 loan. If I can't have a real man's truck, I'm getting the AR with that round, drum magazine, and a case of bullets. Do you have in house financing?'

'Plasma rifle with a 40 watt range.' Sorry, fella. What you see is what you get. 'SUV with a cow catcher bumper.'

'My wife said I could have a blow job for my birthday but I just can't wait.'

'He said his Ford was faster than my Chevy. So I raced him, title for title. Now that I'm walking, I'll need a gun to catch his ass.'

Putin meets Trump and then says ...

"You're a fucking idiot. I wish Hillary had won."

Die! Die! At least 3 per hour!

The President walks to the podium and leads the Pressroom reporters in prayer.

Fox News: The President humbled himself before the fake news reporters.

CNN: The President nodded off with his chin on his chest, snoring.

Today, I announce completion of the Wall with Mexico but did I mention my exceptional victory in the Electoral College? Most of you others haven't been reporting the truth but I had millions, millions I say, come to my after party. We won by the largest margin ever. I had 307 and half. That Green Party lady got none. Impressive victory.

The Wall. We started the wall right after calling Russian in December. I said, "I'm going to build the wall." Some of you don't remember and didn't report it. Putin has it on tape. So, while you losers were making up stories about Russian. And, Russia is fake. Fake. We built the Wall. That's right. THE Wall.

It's done and no one reported on it. Fake news will say I never built it. But, we did. I did. It's there. Duh!

We have pictures. I'm not going to share them. The fake news won't print them. Honestly. Honest.

My car is running like a well oiled machine. My driver says so. I don't have a mechanic. Don't need one. Nothing breaks while I'm around.

So, I won. It was big. I'm keeping my campaign promises. Counting my votes again. I got more votes than money. Did any one have any questions?"

Fox News reports: The legitimate President's new conference concluded quietly after a brief question and answer period.

CNN reports: As Trump left the pressroom, three reporters were shot with tazers by the Secret Service as Trump giggled like a girl.

Shot to death by police

Here's my version of events.

Some one steals my car. I had it parked in my drive way. I never heard a thing. Slept right through it.

Report the theft to the police ...

A week later, I hear something in my drive way. Steps on my front porch. Luckily I'm sleeping in my 12 gauge pajamas. Waving my jammies in a threatening manner, I shout, Who goes there!?

Smith and Wesson answer with 16 body shots. I die on the floor of my own home. Killed by the police serving a no knock, shoot to kill warrant.

Turns out, the police say I'm a sleep walking drug dealer living a second life (which also ended after my conversation with Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson.)

The police toss my wife out of the bed and begin searching for my drug inventory, meth lab, and the million dollars in drug money I've hidden in my house.

Two days later, they call off the search. Two days. Did I say, two days. Yes, I did. Two days after I died on the floor of my home, the police stop tearing my home apart.

They didn't find a thing.

My family grieves. They can't bury me in my own clothes because the police seized everything in the search. My surviving wife doesn't have her own clothes to wear to the funeral.

And, the police have what to say? Nothing. By the way, felons have a right to carry guns in Georgia but homeowners don't have a right to carry in their homes.

A 7-year-old boy shot himself at his family’s homemade shooting range in California:

The boy was reportedly firing a single-shot, .22 bolt action youth rifle under his father’s supervision. When the boy cried out, his father noticed there was a small hole in his shirt, then blood.
A 9-year-old girl accidentally shot and killed her instructor with an Uzi in Arizona:

A 13-year-old boy was shot and killed by his 14-year-old friend while they were handling a rifle in Oklahoma:

Police say initially the other teens said the victim shot himself with the gun, but after questioning them separately, police say the 14-year-old accidentally fired the gun … Police say the rifle used was stolen from a home in Midwest City in 2011. Right now investigators don’t know how the gun ended up in the teens hands.

Police departments a good source of guns for felons

The federal government program known as '1033' gives local police departments military weapons like Humvees, small tanks called APCs, and automatic weapons.

So as we learn from Mike Brown and Ferguson, we militarized the police. Well, maybe in ways we didn't mean.

For example, the police seem to lose their new equipment. So far, four free Humvees are missing or stolen. Sheriff or sometimes 'Sharif' Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Arizona can't find his M16. Or, nine of his Colt .45 handguns given to him by .... Obama et al.

He's just a good ol' boy. Losing a rifle or a few handguns doesn't mean anything. Well, it means Obama isn't giving him anymore free military weapons. So now we know why the 'Sharif' of Maricopa whines like a baby. Someone took his toys and Nanny won't let him have new ones.

Getting banned from '1033' requires a certain amount of dishonesty or incompetence. If you lose your Humvee but report it stolen within 24 hours, you can get a free replacement.

Is there a problem with the program or just a problem with honesty among our local law enforcement?

Well, in Texas, bastion of justice, Chief William Jason Kelcy 'sold' four million dollars of '1033' goodies before getting Busted!

Make me wonder how long the Chief had to stand on dark street corners whispering, "Hey! Wanna buy a Humvee? How about a machine gun? Dude, I got handguns. Handguns!" before he unloaded the four million dollars in military weapons.

So who buys stolen weapons being sold by the Chief of Police? Don't over think it. Criminals. The most solid citizens in the community. Who else would the Chief of Police trust?

Bra shoots woman after man grabs her

There are no pictures or videos. Dang~

Seems a man and a woman were having a peaceful discussion on religion and politics at the same time. Being a woman, she was very upfront in point of view while he kept shifting positions.

Unable to see eye to eye on the church and Obama, the man did what is logical for all men, he reached out for her. Her bra that is.

Seems he thought she might have an Obama cell phone hidden in it. She did. That and a gun. That's quite a pair to pack inside a bra.

Some things got out of hand at that point and the gun went off. What could have been a very one sided disaster wound up being a flesh wound in the arm. How her arm fit into a bra loaded with a gun and a cell phone beats me. I don't make them up and I don't explain them.

The woman was able to run to the hospital. What a pair of legs. The doctors all agreed that she will recover soon. I hope so.

Asked for a comment she said, I'm going Open Carry from now on. The experience was all a big bust for me.

Guns everywhere stance already kills innocent bystander

Self defense is a bitch if you've been drinking. It must happen like this:

Someone bumps your elbow just as you're lifting your beer bottle. Instead of hitting your mouth with gently rounded lips of a high quality beer bottle, your stick your nose in beer. Snorting warm beer and rich beer foam, you turn quickly to identify the careless lout who spilled three cents worth of your $3.75 beer.

Following standard Cowboy bar protocol, you snarl, "Watch it, buddy!"

Robert DeNiro spins around with a cocky look and says, "You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? Then who the hell else are you talkin' to? You talkin' to me? Well I'm the only one here. Who the fuck do you think you're talking to?"

Then, things move outside for more theatre and weak insults. Insults outside bars used to be so robust and nearly lethal in the days before the Guns Everywhere Law. Since then, no one really cares to whip out a cutting 'Yo Moma' quip. Now it's whip out the semi-auto 9 mm with 17 shot capacity, a bayonet mounted on the accessory rail.

Yes. A bayonet not a laser sight. Only a wuss uses a laser sight in a bar shooting.

Triggers are gently massaged. Steely eyed combatants close one steely eye to save their night vision and exchange salvoes.

Now here's the next set of rules, if you're wounded but standing, you stagger around in front of the onlookers saying, 'He shot me. Look. I'm shot. Why did he have to do that?'

If you're on the ground, wounded or not, shout, 'Help me up. I'm going to kill that guy who killed me before I die. I swear.'

If you're unwounded and still standing after your 17 shots, Run! Run like hell you coward because you've probably shot 17 innocent people killing at least one.

The right to carry a concealed weapon when discussing divorce with your soon to be ex spouse

Wife files for divorce.

Husband says, please don't.

She says, it's over.

He begs her to meet him in a public place and talk about it.

She arrives. He pulls out his concealed weapon and shoots her over and over again.

So a well educated and valuable member of our society, a Fulton County prosecutor, did get shot by her future ex husband. Multiple gun shot wounds.

So, who wants to blame the woman because she was asking for it?

Hold up your hand if you think she was dumb to trust him in a public place?

Jump up and down if you think he could have knifed her to death through a glass window?

Close your eyes and bow your head if you think a gun just ended a marriage.

One more gun crime that wasn't committed by a felon, a criminal, a person with a history of violence, a person with a diagnosed mental health issue...

John R. Lott, Darling baby of the NRA

Jerry Callahan in his March 27th letter to the Times mentions the work of John R. Lott as the final word in guns and crime. Lott’s empirical work, on face value, was good. Many social scientists would agree that it stimulated others to examine the subject of Right to Carry (RTC) laws and any relationship with crime. When re-examined, Lott’s data shows that crime increases as RTC laws are passed.

In 2004, the National Research Council reviewed Lott’s work stating, “The initial model specification, when extended to new data, does not show evidence that passage of right-to-carry laws reduces crime. No link between right-to-carry laws and changes in crime is apparent in the raw data, even in the initial sample; it is only once numerous covariates are included [by Lott] that the negative results in the early data emerge.”

In August of 2012, NBER Working Paper No. 18294 found that aggravated assault rises when RTC laws are adopted. Further, RTC laws increase crime in six out of the seven crime categories.

In 2002, the Violence Policy Center studied Texans with a RTC permit. They discovered that 41 of 150,000 permit holders were arrested for murder or attempted murder over a 5 year period. The average permit holder was a white male living in an area with above average income and education levels, and which is composed predominantly of non-Hispanic whites. This suggests that permit holders, as a group, commit murder more often than any similar group selected at random.

But, let’s use real world comparisons and common sense.

Chicago has far stronger guns control laws than Atlanta. So by Lott’s rational, Atlanta should have less crime. That’s not true. Atlanta has a higher rate of murder and robbery per 100,000 than Chicago. Aggravated assault rates are more than 75% higher. Property crime is 55% higher. Burglary is 68% higher. And motor vehicle thefts are 85% higher. You are safer in Chicago with its gun control laws than in Atlanta with its Right to Carry laws.

It’s common sense. When there are more guns, there's more crime.

Man with conceal carry permit commits murder in Florida over loud music

He had never committed a crime. Nice quiet guy. Always waved and smiled at his neighbors.

Then one day, the music was too loud.

Nine shots later, a 17 year old kid sitting in the back seat of a SUV was dead.

What did the shooter have to say? No one is going to talk to me like that!

Another dead black kid in Florida. Nine shots. A 47 year old adult starts a shouting match. Loses the shouting match. Goes to his car. Gets his gun out of the locked dash.

Empties the gun through the front door of the other vehicle.

Expect a not-guilty verdict. The ghetto kids assaulted him with bass.

Well, it was maybe tremble. Or, a 4 inch pocket knife. Or, a shotgun!

If you're going to shot a 17 year old kid in the back, then claim self-defense, it really helps your case if you remember being threatened with a knife or a shotgun.

And, if it is self-defense, don't drive away.

Gun violence in the US

I grew up in Southern Indiana. It is mostly rural there. Farming, fishing, and hunting were just as popular as Nascar in the South.

Consequently, Indiana has a lot of gun owners, a low murder rate, and a low murder by gun rate.

We had almost 40 percent of people owning guns.

I've heard people equate more guns means less crime. The Indiana stats could be twisted to support that. They shouldn't be.

Indiana has 185 people per square mile. Is it the number of people per square mile that maters?

I don't think so. Massachusetts has 852 people per square mile and a murder rate that matches Indiana. Gun ownership is reported as 1/3 that of Indiana.

So if we use the shortage of guns causes murders theory, Massachusetts should have more murders than Indiana.

How many gun murders in Indiana where it's rural and many grow up around guns? 142!

How many gun murders in Massachusetts with it's big cities? 118.

Both have a similar population. IN at 6.4 million. MA at 6.5 million.

But Indiana should have roughly 2.500.000 guns.

Massachusetts should only have 845.000 guns.

So why do the kind, rural, conservative people of Indiana kill at the same rate as those bleeding heart, intellectual elite, city scum in Massachusetts.

Think carefully.

They're killing family because it's a long way to meet someone.

Guns in school

A few years ago, the Gwinnett County school system expelled a female student for carrying an unloaded gun to school. I remember very few details but my children were in the Gwinnett system at the time.

The word on the street said the young lady didn't want to attend school any more. So, she carried a small caliber semi-auto hand gun to school in her back page. It might have been a .25 or .22 bullet. She whipped it out in front of a teacher knowing the zero tolerance policy on guns.

Wow!

Now in little ol' Hall County, we have law enforcement making random checks at all the schools. I hope the increased presence has some positive effect. Maybe the parents feel better. I would. Maybe someone thinks it will stop another senseless gun worshiping murderer from killing kids.

Maybe.

Despite all the attention being given school security, we're still seeing students carrying guns to school in a back pack Then, killing the innocent before a resource officer or other law enforcement can intervene.

I might need some help here. Any one remember a school shooting being stopped by law enforcement? Don't most of these gun worshiping killers kill themselves?

So we've gone from don't carry a gun to school or you get expelled to the new policy. Carry a gun to school and get shot.

As if that makes sense. Even the most mindless killer expects to get shot, die, or spend life in prison.

Still doesn't stop them.

So my beloved Gainesville School System is arming resource officers with M4 rifles. Story from Access North Georgia.

The cost is somewhere around $3,000.

Wanna bet there's no trauma kit in the school? Nothing more than band aids in the nurse's office? Wanna bet she buys them without being reimbursed?

I'll go further. Wanna bet there's a movement among conservatives to do away with school nurses?

We have money for M4 rifles and biometic gun safes. We don't pay school nurses competitive wages. We don't stock the clinics with band aids. We won't extend Medicaid with a 100% federal subsidy.

Guns or butter has become guns or brains.

No duty to retreat

Is it fear that moves a homeowner to shoot another human being?

No.

I can prove it. I hate being able to prove it. I want to think more of my fellow man.

Here's the story.

A 72 year old man with Alzheimers gets lost. Happens a lot. Too often. It's the middle of the night. It's cold and dark. He wanders towards a house with a porch light on. Knocks on the door. The homeowner won't answer the door. The homeowner calls the cops. Can't wait for the cops. Gets a gun. Shoots the 72 year old man to death.

We wouldn't do that to a dog. Even a Mad Dog.

Think about it. We just shot him.

We just shot him. We don't really know why. Afterwards, the shooter can't explain it. But, at the time, it seemed like a really good idea to leave a warm, safe place. Go outside with a gun but without a flash light. And shoot.



It didn't make much news. And, the shooter won't go to jail. Won't be charged with a crime. Because that old man was dangerous. A threat to kill people. In the opinion of a gun owner.

But, can you provide me a story about a gun owner leaving the safety of a house to shoot a rabid dog?

When we see a dog in our yard, we stay inside. We call the cops. We wait for them.



It's not fear that motivates a gun owner to shoot a person. If fear made us grab a gun, walk out into the cold dark, and shoot ... we would shoot rabid animals.

How not to win an argument against gun control

There's a gun to my head! IRS agents have machine guns and are forcing me to pay taxes!

Back to this little irrational theme.

Let's say I stop making my mortgage payments. I'll go through the same hoops as not paying my taxes.

The bank sends me a few messages. If I don't reply, I start getting some personal attention. If I still don't reply, I get a default notice. If I still don't reply and don't pay. I get a notice that my home is going to be seized and sold to the highest bidder. Which will be the bank holding my mortgage 90% of the time.

My house gets sold. I get an eviction notice. If I continue to squat in the house, I get evicted by the new owner.

Maybe a law enforcement officer wearing a gun and driving a car with a trunk full of guns helps keep the peace during the eviction.

If I resist, I don't usually get shot. But, if I get violent, I could get dead.

That doesn't mean the bank is holding a gun to my head forcing me to pay my mortgage on time.

So the wackos who think the IRS has a gun to their heads will say, "I don't have a choice in government. I do have choices in the market place."

No. You can't change to a bank that doesn't expect you to pay.

This whole thing about a deadly threat forces tax payment is bullshit.

When the IRS starts executing delinquent tax payers on the street, I'll change my mind.

Georgia Senate has no guts on guns

The Republican dominated Georgia Senate has no guts!

With Casey Cagle leading the pack of wind blown opinion chasers, the Senate wilted in the hours after the massacre at Virginia Tech. For the nearly Biblical 40 days and 40 nights, the Legislature has been pushing Guns and Guts in SB 43 and HB 89. These two gun packing bills have been competing for the Guns and Guts vote in the Senate and the House, respectively.

Now, all the Georgia Cowboys have to cry and leave their guns at home. In the hours after 33 people were murdered one by one on a college campus, Georgia Republicans turned their backs and showed their yellow stripes.

The Senate will not bring either bill to a final vote. Not even Jim Whitehead wants to stand on principles of a gun on every hip and in every car. (Senator Whitehead says it okay kill every liberal student and faculty member at UGA with bombs, not a Glock 19.)
