The Marietta Daily Journal, a right leaning newspaper, reports today that our property rights are gone, again.
During the election cycle, the GOP hit property rights as an issue. Often they made promises to stop eminent domain. Eminent domain, the right of the state to condemn private property, has been used to take property from private citizens and then give that land to corporations.
The article makes it clear that the GOP LIED again!
The GOP is writing laws that make it easier for corporations to take your land.
This new law is connected to allegations of sexual gifts from a lobbyist to the GOP's Glen Richardson. Bobby Kahn filed an ethics complaint against Mr. Richardson.
The GOP Ethics Commission, headed by Senator Eric Johnson (R), rejected the complaint without reading it.
