Next GOP Corruption Trial

The jury isn't back on Scooter "Liar Liar Liar" Libby, but the FBI is tuning up another stool pigeon for another GOP corruption scandal. Who looks right for the fall?

The Republican Governor of Nevada

Gibbons said he had not been contacted by the FBI regarding his contacts with Warren Trepp, a longtime friend and owner of eTreppid who contributed nearly $100,000 to Gibbons' campaign for governor.

"I don't think that I have done anything that hasn't been done by others, which is opening doors for businesses in the state of Nevada," Gibbons said.

Trepp, a former chief trader for convicted junk-bond dealer Michael Milken, also has denied any wrongdoing.

Another GOP Governor has to be sweating bullets. Has Sonny Perdue spent his $100,000 tax rebate check? He better spend it fast. After all, Ralph Reed spent his $4,000,000 from Jack Abramoff instead of giving it back. Gosh, when the FBI starts investigating petty amounts like a $100,000 ... what Republican will be safe?
