Congratulations to those who have gotten this venture underway. It will be so good to have a place to meet and speak from the perspective of living by and with Democratic values in North Georgia.

It is my view our nation is facing the greatest danger in our history. This is a result of the relentless and effective assaults on human rights, civil liberties and our very democracy by the far right wing conservative executive branch of the government.

In fact I fear much has been lost already. It is outrageous that a Vice President claims the majority opinion of the people is not relevant and outrageous to have a President that acts that way.

The question is how much and how soon can democracy be recovered? Free speech that "let(s) the sun shine in" and the vote are those most effective tools to bring that about.

Even autocrats cannot endure in the face of organized opposition by the polis. So, Let's keep organizing!
